Came at night, all park almost full (Thursday night) around 5-6 seats left.

I came as geoupof 3 campervans, park besides each others for just 2 cars and the other one 3 parking lat away. Nice view, nice toilet. No dump no tab water.

Great free camping in the area.

Has an unbeatable view on the beach and the sunset is pretty amazing. People are actually driving up there for the sunset. We even spotted some dolphins swimming not too far from the point. The toilets are really nice and clean and you can have an outside shower if you need it! Great surfing spot as well!

One of the best places we have been at for a long time.

The high score due to the nice views, clean toilet and outdoor shower. Thanks to the local Council for supporting this excellent Freedom camper site.

Nice spot, but very full and loud!

Standing centimeters next to each others camper and loud motorcycles around that area..

Toilets are okay, but have seen better ones on my journey through NZ.

    Views are stunning, though!

Lots of spots, but very packed.

Don't get here too late. Very windy, it's completely exposed. Nice beach for surfing, very clean (flushing) toilets, outdoor shower, bins.

    Stunning place!

Flushed toilets (cleaned 3 times a day!), 2 cold showers, 35 min walk to city center (woolworth, warehouse etc), beautiful sunset!

Little trailer till 1 pm with great coffee and snacks!

    Respect the place!

Don’t park like an idiot and stop washing your dishes in the toilets/showers! That’s disgusting for everyone!

The Green Sticker Eule IS ONLY for Rental Cars, If you own a selfcontained Van with a blue Sticker you are still allowed to stay (there are no Rules for vehicles other than rented ones and I didn't have

    any Trouble staying there).

Keep in mind that from December 7th 2024 you‘ll need a green self contained sticker or you’ll be fined 400 dollars.

Otherwise it’s a pretty good stop for a night

2 very clean toilets that are cleaned 2x a day + an outside shower.

Lots of space, many cars can stay here. The location is right by the beach. It was rainy and quite stormy when we were there, we woke up a few times because of the wind howling.

A good spot for a stop over.

Plenty of space for campervans, make sure to park in designated overnight spots. Incredibly clean toilets available for use.

Very clean and well serviced toilets, I couldn’t believe the quality for the price of nothing!

Views across to the mountains are beautiful.

I imagine this place would fill up quickly in summer; even on a cold, rainy Monday night in September there were several vans around.

Note that the section of the carpark along the waterfront is not available for camping (signs are pretty clear). Some locals were telling me that those in charge will not hesitate to boot you out if you camp in the wrong place.

This was a great place to stop!

The Wetland development was a lovely place to stroll along and watch the birdlife and, whilst brisk, the walk along the beach promenade was also worthwhile. Close enough to the township and some good spots to take in the sea views.

overnight parking now only small area, the rest is daytime parking only we stayed in the overnight parking and saw that there where a couple of freedom campers staying in the daytime park overnight, the

guy who checks it out with the orange light in his car window just drove in stopped by them and drove off these campers where parking in a daytime park overnight, why not move them on otherwise whats the use in having the parking signs there apart from that a great spot to stay.

Room for plenty of motor homes.

Awesome this type of facilities are available to travelers. Bit exposed to westerly winds off the water but it was windy for our stay and did not bother us. Was probably about 11 motor homes here last night.

Need to arrive before 5pm or don’t bother.
