Wingatui Racecourse

The Wingatui Racecourse on Gladstone Road in Mosgiel is operating as a Park over Property for camper vans and motor homes. Great location, quiet and picturesque and a pretty unique atmosphere with the horses working away on the track in the morning. Plenty of camping spots to choose from, there are private secluded sites on grass or tarmac.

There are no powered sites here, but plenty of space for motorhomes and campervans. Pets welcome, but please keep them on leads.

Nice spot, in a racecourse car park.

Toilets are really nice and clean. Fairly cheap. Short drive to Dunedin

This place was free when we were here - great toilet block.

No showers. Lots of camp spaces.

Car park from the racecourse, practical but not beautiful.

The bathrooms and flush toilets are clean and big. There's no shower, so 15$pn are a bit expensive.

    Average parking lot.

Plenty of space. Toilets and that's about it. 15$ per vehicle, so worth it for more then 1 person.

The camp is inside of the racecourse, so you need to drive in via the main driveway.

The camp had the best toilet so far, clean with light, toilet paper, and good smell. There is drinkable water, and the place was very calm and spacious. On the far side of the seating block, there is a place meant to wash of and water horses - and possibly intrepid backpackers.

The best place that we found to our first day of the year.

    $15 per vehicle, per night.

So okay if you are with people. Not really worth it if you're by yourself. Not much room for any tents. Big enough car park, and toilets are basic.

Toilet block large and very clean and modern.

Tarmac site with small view of racecourse, woke up on a gorgeous frosty morning (winter 2017).

Great camping spot, rung office before arrival, they confirmed that any self contained campers were welcome to park there.

Good toilets fresh water and dump station for $8 a night.

We were late so we needed to fill out a small letter (I think it was 8$pp).

It was really nice! Clean and good toiletts, close to go to Dunedin and you see the horse training in the morning.

Pretty happy to see this campervan park after a long drive.

Nice and quiet, with tarsealed carpark for campervans, and a new toilet block and dump facilities. Noticed the park over rules say this facility is only available to NZMCA members. Our GPS tried to send us up a gravel road to get to this, which was not necessary, as this is easily accessible on tar sealed roads from Mosgiel.

    Lovely welcome by caretaker.

Really interesting place to stay especially watching the horses training in the morning. Beautiful views with early fog across racecourse with sun making for wonderful photographic moments. No electric but that is the only distraction. Locals very friendly

I paid $15 for unpowered site.

There was no sign for powered site or even price difference between the two. The toilet was quite dusty and there were no toilet paper. It was quiet though and blocked from the wind.
