There are limited spaces for certified self-contained vehicles and those with non-certified self-contained vehicles. There is no camping allowed at Ocean View.
Vehicle noise and lights can disrupt sleep, so please show consideration to local residents and other campers by arriving at the site before 10pm. Please also respect our environment by using the rubbish and toilet facilities provided.

A great spot to stay overnight!
Lovely beach for a stroll and close enough to town and Lanarch Castle. Toilets cleaned daily and other campers were considerate.

For a free parking, it’s really nice.
Especially to sleep under the stars. They have one public toilet, but I didn’t use it. There was no noise from the street, no homeless people or noise from the bar - contrary to what people had written in the comments. I recommend this.

Two alright toilets and portaloo which no one seemed to use so it was very clean (top tip).
Has an outdoor sink, drinking water and a dump station so awesome spot. Safe and quiet next to the beach!

Only 11 spots, completely full by the time we arrived.
Watched two vans pull in just before us they didn't get a spot either. Contrary to previous reviews I didn't see anything regarding a certain number of spots for non-self contained or self contained. Beach is right there and looked nice, didn't check out the toilets.

Only downside of this location is the fact that you have to be here early.
By the time it was 17.00 , we saw one campervan after the other that had no more place. And this was pre season very early november.Only approximately 11 places. Have not tried the restrooms.

We’re non-self contained so pretty happy with the spot.
Make sure to arrive early because it fills up fast.

Ok spot for a free night near the ocean.
1 min walk to the beach. It is near the road, but didn't really bother. There are 10 spots so be on time to get one. There are 2 toilets that get cleaned regularly.

Only 5 spots for non self contained vehicles and alot of self contained vans were parked in those spots which is frustrating because theres so many spots everywhere for them and never for people with smaller
cars..there was a bunch of open spots for them just in front so no need to take spots away from people in cars.. otherwise it was a great spot on the beach eith drinking water, a sink for dishes and a toilet.. friendly locals... there was a sea lion walking around the parking lot so be careful not to approach and get to close...

Beautiful spot right by the beach.
Has everything you need including a sink to wash dishes. Clean bathrooms, drinking water, and great views to wake up to. Would return!

Drinkable water, decent toilet and dump station. Would be perfect with showers (or power).

Stayed at the other site just down the road, but this was a regular stop to empty and refill.
Great beach too! Love this area and big thumbs up for providing 2 great sites to stay.

Very nice spot!
5 spots for SC and 5 spots for non SC. Make sure to choose the right category and leave by 8AM. It's not that hard. There is lots of car parks for during the day as well. Toilet, free drinking water, dump station, sink for doing dishes and one minute walk to the beautiful beach. Only downside is that you can hear cars passing in the night on the street.

Good stay if your looking for a place just out of town.
We stayed one night only and there were only a few other cars and campervans. No view of the beach due to trees from parking but its literally a few meters walk and the view is so beautiful especially at sunrise

Clean toilets, nice spot right next to the beach, but not many spaces.
Full by 4:30. Only 5 NSC spots. Unfortunately people were littering and quite loud. People parked behind other cars and in the no overnight camping spots. Shame people have to ruin it

Great location to Dunedin and right on the beach so very popular, would recommend getting in early.
Non-self contained spots were all taken so we parked up in a self contained spot with no issues. Toilets are clean :)

Amazing campsite next to a beautiful beach, perfect for a morning walk.
Clean flush toilets and even drink water supply. There are only very few spots available (especially for non-selfcontained cars) so come there early. They actually control if you parked in the marked area...some people woke up to a 200$ fine on their windscreens

Amazing spot!
2 public toilets available are clean and looked to have been cleaned in the early hours of the morning when we woke. Incredible location next to a gorgeous beach! A must to get up for the sunrise with your first cup of tea! The sky was stunning! Was very busy even in Sept.

This was one of my favourite places to stay in all of New Zealand, parking is 5 metres from a beautiful beach, great location (10 min from Dunedin), clean bathrooms, grassy area for picnic.
Only thing is it gets pretty crowded at night, but was quiet for the amount of people. A MUST STAY!

Very nice free car park for all vehicles.
Instructions on site were very good. It was nice to find one free car park for a regular car. However regular car places on this site were also filled with campervans eventually. Be early. Clean toilets and a beach closeby.

Lovely beach, white sand next to the main road, reasonable toilets with sink for dishes and dump station.
It was empty when we arrived at 2pm the downside was from 5pm onwards loads of young people arrived in small vans and cars and totally blocked us in, the sign said the parking was only until 8.30am, some of the vehicles hadn't moved by 8.30am so nobody could get out !!!!!
Eventually we had to bang on windows to make them move. There was about 30 vehicles in total with young adults, I must say very quiet well behaved young adults.

Great site with great facilities, however you want to get there early!!
We arrived about 3pm and by 5/6 there were so many vans all cramped together in a small space. Ocean is close and it's fairly quite.
