If bikes are more your speed, Wine Tours by Bike is a solid option in Marlborough for a more free-range dabble through the vineyards. Outside of wine country, the craft beer scene is worth a look too. Nelson has some of the best brewing in the country, and down in Kaikoura, Emporium Brewing is a genuinely great stop - a minibutt at a brewery, hard to argue with that.
