Stayed here on a Saturday night and so noise from the restaurant kept me up a little late.

It was also quite bright all night. Unfortunately got here after dark so I didn't get to see the sunset, but still saw gorgeous views in the morning. Overall a nice freedom camping spot with decent toilets nearby.

After a beautiful sunset and settled in for the night along come the young people with music blaring and revving their engines, after 1 am it finally got quite.

I'd have gone out and asked them to be more considerate but hubby had fallen asleep on top of my false leg and slept through it all.

    On of our favorite spots!

You stand directly next to the beach. Toilets where just at the other side of the parking lot and were open during the night. There was a max of campervans that could stay here, but we didnt get send away. But make sure you're on time!

Just in front of the beach.

If you are hungry there is also a restaurant. Toilets clean.

Really good spot right on the beach.

As other people have said there were more than 3 campervans there overnight (probably 6 or so) but didn’t cause any issues.

The toilet wasn’t locked up the night we were there which was good.

Beautiful place to stay right on the beach.

Flush toilet was clean. Says only 3 vans but there were about 6 there and no issues. Plenty of space. There is a bar and restaurant there too if you wanted a meal.

    Great spot on beach.

Toilets available close by and pretty clean. 3 spots but clear that more vans stay than that. Would come again

    Great views, nice beach.

Toilets clean but dated. Great restaurant/bar. Park for kids . Dog friendly. Not far to shops/cafes and laundromat. Shame you can only stay one night.

First time in our new caravan and this little spot was near perfect.

Had to wait for a couple of cars to vacate the overnight parks as it had been a lovely day and the carpark was quite full. As with previous comments, I think it's not a problem for more that three vans to stay overnight as some leave very early for the ferry. We were fully self contained so can't comment on the toilets. Nearby bars, restaurants and shops were excellent. Only thing bad was the weather meaning we didn't get to explore the local area on foot. Will most definitely be back.

    Perfect spot.

Right next to and amazing beach. In theory just space for three vans but we were like 10 there. Its a parking area in front the beach. Nice toilets but only open from sunrise to sunset. Very nice sunset at the beach. Just a bit of light and noise from the restaurant nearby. For a free camp its just perfect!!!

    Beautiful views close to playground.

Plenty to emtertain the Family. Enjoyed quiet night Good Friday. Fired up bbq next to camper after clearing it with Council and ultimately Rescue Service. Drew a few comments reminding how great a Country we live in and the freedom we have here. Awesome location. Agree with comments re public toilets need servicing would give better Tourist impression but wouldnt stop us from returning.

Free campsite right at the beach.

Only three campervans are allowed, but there are no designated spots, so eventually there were about seven campervans that stayed for the night in november. Toilet facility (No showers) were nearby, but were not very clean and had no lights. Toilets closed at 9pm. Good spot to stay when you head out for Wellington the next day.

Wonderful place to stay - beautiful unobstructed view of the beach, Sunset was gorgeous.

Toilets just across parking lot are open from sunrise to sunset. Up to three camper vans allowed at one time. A definite gem....and it's free!

Great site, right on the beach, in a public carpark.

Public toilets close at sunset and open at sunrise. Restaurant and children's playground next door but it was a very quite spot during the week. An easy walk to shops. Basically a good overnight stop. There were signs saying only 3 self contained vehicles allowed per night. But when we awoke, there were at least 6 vehicles parked.

Great quiet spot during the night, right at the beach with great views out our back window, like sleeping on the beach, we stayed here on a Thursday, there is plenty of room for three self contained vehicles

, when you get there it might seem like no room because of many cars parking but most of them leave late afternoon or after sunset. The only thing to complain is the public toilet which was quite dirty. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location directly overlooking the beach.

Self contained only but public toilets in carpark. They close in the evening but were open at 5.30am. Some noise until 10pm from restaurant and lots of weekend activity at boat launch in carpark. Woke up to find a woman's triathlon getting underway. But it all just kept us entertained as it was never intrusive.

    Great spot.

Good view, near to children's playground, bar and restaurant and Raumati shops. Could be a bit rough in windy weather.
