First of all, the campsite is partially flooded but that doesn‘t effect the camping besides of the bbq area and the playground.
The toilets are accesible and working though. We really enjoyed staying here. The flooded sea gave it a wild mysterious athmosphere that we loved.

This campsite is currently completely flooded and stinks of raw sewage (presumably from the toilet block which is underwater).
Stay away until summer. We camped here last year and it was excellent, clearly the wet summer wasn’t good for camp grounds near the lakes.

Went here after going to Lake Okareka and seeing it completely packed (summer holidays), ended up having a great time.
There were plenty of spaces, the scenery was pretty enough, and the other guests were quiet and respectful.
The toilets were relatively clean and had soap, however they didn't have lights, which was disappointing considering it's paid campsite.

Lovely spot beside the lake and a large area for camping.
Flush toilets and running water in the bathrooms. Really picturesque and worth $8 a night. Dog friendly. A nice escape from the business of central Rotorua!

Very basic with nothing special, but met our needs.
Sunrise in the morning was pretty and the campground was quiet.

Lakeside camping that can get busy over summer, but is still much quieter than the busier lakes close to Rotorua.
Not super flash, but for most of the year you'll get to stay here without a crowd.

Park up next to the lake if you like.
Awesome sunsets and sunrises across the misty lake in winter. Very peaceful place and in summer the lake is a great swim off the jetty. Been a favourite for many years. Flushing toilets, fresh drinking water, electric BBQ but nothing else.

Very nice location with clean facilities.
We were in the camp alone, and the sunny morning near the lake was amazing - birds singing and everything. Very pleasant place to stay overnight.

Good clean facilities. Rubbish needed to be picked up. Good fishing in the lake for large rainbows.

This site is only self contained now says so on new sign from Rotorua council it's $10 a nite so $400 fine if you stay in a non self contained vehicle so needs to be updated by rankers
