If you are keen to stay in the middle of isolation, Lake Tennyson will be your calling. A beautiful spot for walks, fishing, swimming and relaxing next to the lake.
Accessible all year from Hanmer Springs via gravel road. This road is not suitable for large vehicles. If you are planning to drive from St Arnaud, the toll road to Lake Tennyson is open between December through until April. If you are travelling during other times you will need to contact Rainbow Station Ltd - 03 545 7600
Wilding conifer control continues in Molesworth using a combination of aerial and ground methods.
Ground control work will be happening in the true right of the Saxton, upstream of Saxton Hut. Ground work will commence in October 2024 and will continue until December 2024.
Aerial Basal Bark Application (ABBA) using helicopters will commence in September 2024 and continue until March 2025. A map showing where helicopters may be operating can be seen on the attached map (JPG, 544K).
The work will be weather dependent, with crews coming and going as weather windows allow.
