Waiotapu Thermal track and Mud Pools

Gurgling, thermal mud pools! A very short walk to view (and hear) a very active, belching set of mud pools. Well worth a quick detour.

Went there in 2014. Still a hoot. Mesmerising.

    A large mud pool.

This is exactly what you can expect. Nothing more nothing less.

Easily accessible (can see from the carpark or a 2 minute walk to the viewing platform) and fascinating to watch.

    Could waste hours there.

This is located next to the thermal wonderland and for free.

It was nice and funny. Maybe even better that the thermal wonderland itself which is not for free.

Hot stream with sulpher, nice area for relaxing and a hot bath.

Walk a bit down the stream and find a waterfall and a pool.
