Nice campsite on the way to Picton.

Located at the shore and with some decent hike spots. Facilities very clean and showers okay. There is a loop walk you can do in the night that will blow your mind since thousands of glowworms will sit there and give you some amazing blueish light. Recommended!

Great we spot had a great time only thing that spoils it was the public parking in front of some of the sites to use the beach. This should be stopped as we pay for that view don't like looking at cars

also the public use the camp. Facilities not on!

We had site 26, which was a good distance away from the entrance so quiet but close enough to the hot shower ($1), laundry (2x $2) and kitchen.

All facilities were very clean and modern. The part of the site was right next to the water. People were swimming paddle boarding etc but we saw jellyfish so stayed out. We also saw a ray swimming.

Site by the water was full. There is another part of the campsite across the road by the office. Office only open certain hours same as the rubbish bin which is a bit annoying as we left in morning before rubbish area was open. Grey water, and fresh water were at each site by the power. The road between here and Picton has 161 bends so keep in mind for anyone with carsickness.

    Amazing spot.

We had the DOC campsite pass so paid $6. Sites 10+ are on one side, 10&10- are on the other. 10+ gets the sun in the evening which was lovely to see but it was busy with big motor homes and caravans (kids holidays). That side also has the kitchen, hot showers and laundry. You can exchange for coins at the office, the staff member who served us was really lovely too. Check in is between 2-8pm. We did see someone coming round to check the sites. Rubbish disposal is also behind the DOC office which was really handy. Highly recommend especially if you already have the DOC pass.

We stayed for one night in the waterfront jetty zone.

You pick your spot when you book online, and can see which spots are occupied. On the reception door it says book online and they have a computer you can use from outside when reception is shut. Phone signal is limited but they have WiFi $5 for 10gb.

Great views, right on the beach and quiet except other campers. It was mid December and I'd say about a third of spots taken.

The facilities are good for DOC which are usually basic. In the section we stayed in, there were clean flushing toilets (need a code from reception). They're male and female but only have one toilet and a shower/ toilet in each. Showers are $1 for 5 mins, cold works without coins though. There's one washer and dryer - both $3 each and take only $1 and $2 coins together. Can get change from reception in opening hours. There was also a small kitchen but we didn't use this. There are other toilets and showers on site but didn't use them either. There was drinking water but no dumpsite.

Found reception staff to be lovely and friendly. Reception is not always open. I think in the afternoons it was 2-3:30pm and 5:30-7pm. We arrived inbetween those times and they leave the check in sticker on the window and say go to your campsite and come back to reception in opening hours. There's no shops around.

Views were stunning and saw lots of 11-legged starfish in the water from the edge/jetty. Nice campsite overall, didn't have an issue with waiting for facilities but could be an issue if it is busier.

Pricey, clean with a side of dismissive and rude service.

This place was $20pp for a non powered sight and showers are coin operated on top of that. We stayed in late April 2021, what let this place down was no bin in the small kitchen area, no detergent or utensils. Payed showers on top of the price and the rude service upon arrival and the insane strictness about check in (only allowing you to park your van in a spot after 2pm) and check out strictly at 10am. If you are there later than 10am you are locked out of the facilities and judged disaprovingly if you hang around to take in the bay after that. Despite it being super quiet, late in yhe season with no tourists in the country. Strictly no dogs too.

Although the setting is lovely and the facilities are very clean, I would not stay here again. Both the lady and the guy running this place were abrasive and dismissive which really ruined the vibe. Not a good kiwi experience at all.

This site has everything, great facilities, amazing location and awesome sites right next to the water.

Great nature walk where you can see glow worms at night and heaps of native birds during the day. We went for a walk during the day and friendly piwakawaka flew with us for the whole walk!

A pleasant surprise was the walkway that follows the coast from Picton and travels through the site. Great for day walks, runs or mountain biking.

I’d imagine it would get busy in peak season but off peak we had only a handful of other campers to share this great site with.

Is fully serviced and you pay a decent amount per night for this, but considering the location and everything it has to offer it is well worth the cost.

Be aware that the shop is only open for the busier months.

Enough picknicktables, a playground for the little ones; It's perfect for families. The glowworms at the back of the campsite at night are a cool experience as well.

    Lovely place but super pricey.

We were charged $46 for a spot by the water in April (small camper, 2 people, powered), and then had to pay for showers on top. There were no easy access garbage bins, just those behind the shop, nowhere near sites or kitchen.

It is pretty, lovely walk, glow worms etc, and super clean toilets. But ridiculously expensive. 10 for location and facilities, 2 for price.

Our first campsite on a month-long campervanning holiday.

Very busy (as expected for time of year). Rather brusque woman doing check in, not very welcoming. No dump station. Decent fish & chips. Campsite seemed expensive for the area and you have to pay for showers on top. The small play park across the road was good for the kids; just beware of the biting insects! Nice trail along the water’s edge for a morning jog.

The facilities were excellent, sparkling clean and modern.

This campsite is really great value for money, not too far from the Picton ferry and only $15 per adult for a powered campervan site. A hot shower is $1 and well worth it. There is a track close to the campsite where you can see glow worms at night and goats during the day. There were also phosphorescence along the shore line The night we stayed, and we spotted seals playing in the water the next morning! I imagine the camp would be packed in summer, but late June it was nice and peaceful.
