Mt / Mount Aspiring Holiday Park

Mt Aspiring Holiday Park is peacefully nestled in the hills just outside of Lake Wanaka township.

Settle in for a relaxing holiday or stopover with beautiful views, plenty of space and fresh mountain air. Lake Wanaka offers a variety of outdoor activities in the hot and dry Otago summers and superb skiing in winter. The world's best fly fishing and tramping is to be found in this area. The jewel at the heart of the region is Mount Aspiring National Park.

We are located 3km from Wanaka town centre, on the road to Treble Cone and the Matukituki Valley.

We can offer you a wide range of facilities. There's a swimming pool (summer only) with a 3-lane water slide, a spa pool, several adventure play areas and a games room. You can even play volleyball, rugby or cricket on the sports field.

You can enjoy a meal on our electric barbecue or use one of the portable ones. We have mountain bikes for hire. To keep in touch with your friends you can use our Internet kiosk.

Nice place, beautiful views from the powered sites.

Can get a bit crowded on Peak moments in the showers. Outdoor pool closed in winter. Wifi worked good.

Nice campsite with living room, swimming pool with games.

the bathrooms are mixed. The kitchen is very small and there is no place to eat, only a small table with two chairs that was always occupied, it is not enough for so many people camping but it is well equipped

Great location, not far from town but also close to Roy’s Peak.

Views across to the mountains were beautiful.

Heaters were on in the communal kitchen which was much appreciated. Note the kitchen didn’t have anything provided for you to use, fully BYO all pots, pans, crockery, utensils. Bathrooms were fine but nothing special. I copped a dud shower but I think I was just unlucky!

Unlike most other campgrounds in NZ they didn’t have a single occupancy rate so this place was not the best value for money for me.

Good spot to stay before heading to Queenstown.

Staff friendly. We paid about 40ish for 2 people staying in a non-powered spot.

Comes with free wifi, which can go so slow once it gets late and there’s much more people on the network.

Amenities are old but clean and in good shape.

Kitchen is small and gets busy! That was the only annoying thing for us. It’s only for the kitchen we review 8 instead of 10.

$43 for one night, unpowered site, 2 people!

There is gendered and mixed gender showers & bathrooms here. Both are great but the ladies block has a good hair dryer and stronger water pressure! There is laundry onsite that requires coins, a kitchen with fairly good utensils. Flat pitches. Beautiful views. 5 mins to the car park for Roys Peak and 10 mins max to the main town

    (Driving). Friendly staff!

    Very recommendable camp ground.

    They take card and cash.

This was a lovely place to park up our campervan.

Quiet and well-looked after grounds near farmland. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean and spacious. We thought the place was so nice we actually returned for another two nights stay when our plan to go to Mount Cook was put off due to poor weather! We believe their rating should be higher :) we would definitely come back again!

Wonderful place in 40 min walking distance from wanaka.

Facilities very clean and welcoming. Payed 48 $ for a powered site for 2 persons. Powered sites are uphill with a very nice view over the bay. Non powered sites cost 40 $ and are close to the road, so they have a much worse price performance ratio. Staff nice at the reception. Strict check out rule at 10 am, therefore 9/10.

Too expensive for what you get.

48,- for powered site for 2p. It has all the facilities, and they are clean and ok. Hot showers for men is restricted to 8 minutes, not for women (weird). It's not a top10 anymore. Spots are tiny, no view, no atmosphere. Registration polite but unpersonal. It was close to our hike, but definitely no second night.

Nice campsite with clean and nice unisex bathrooms, lots of families around.

Kitchen equipment could be rented for just a 20$ deposit, so no fee, which was really nice! Unfortunately the fridge had not had a proper clean in a while: dirty, broken glass and very (!) old milk in it. Cookers were not very powerful, took ages to cook something.

Decent campsite on a relatively quiet part of the road.

Slightly further out of Wanaka but only a 5 minute drive away. Good internet connection and it’s free. Staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets and kitchens are quite dated though, most of the plugs in one of the kitchens didn’t work. Seemed a bit pricey when considering the standard of the facilities available.

We arrived late at night and pulled into a non-powered site.

When we paid the following morning, the staff was rude and the price was definitely too high. We pulled out of the spot and waited for our laundry to finish and were approached by the staff informing us we needed to leave. They chased off another couple too; apparently there's no leniency for using the facilities after checkout time. I would not return and would not recommend.

As a Top 10 site it did what it said on the tin - the motorhomes were on the top of the site with great views and a nice breeze but a little out of Wanaka so we had to drive everywhere.

Stayed one night as the drive even down to the lake put us off.

Arrived late and were lucky enough to have a lady help us even though is was after closing time.

Spacious camp sites with a nice backdrop and very peaceful. From what I could see most sites have wooden table and chairs. Large kitchen area, best clothes washers and dryers we used on our holiday, however a little pricier than most at $4 each. Toilet and showers clean and tidy. Only park we stayed at that had a pool. Price on par with other Top 10 sites we stayed at.

Showers ok, staff helpful and pleasant. 100Mb wifi free, but overage on the sites lower down the slope is patchy. So if you're going to buy any extra Gb, test coverage. Overall a clean and functional place to stay.

Out of town, rundown and the facilities required updating - in the female bathrooms I noted what looked like black mould on the ceiling, holes in walls, electrical cords hanging from the ceiling, rusted

shower caddies - only in some showers others had nothing to place your toiletries needed while in the shower. The area for powered sites for campers and caravans was at the top of the property with views of the mountains and lakes as well as the rundown property of the Top 10 caravan park itself. On the plus side, the shower didn't have a timer for hot water (females bathroom - males did) but the water was very difficult to keep at a steady temp. Overall disappointed with this caravan park wish we had of read the reviews, but we didn't bother as all other Top 10's have been great!

This was way over priced at $20 per person per night for an unpowered site.

The showers were in need of some TLC, there was a mouse in one of the two kitchens, one laundry room wasn't working, in the second laundry room one of the dryers was broken, the kitchen had people trying to clean at 09h45 while people were making breakfast. It all felt a bit odd. However the terraces were nice and there was free WiFi.
