Excellent.
We stayed at a powered site which was located right near the pool and by all the facilities. The staff were lovely and helpful. We arrived well early and they still allowed us in which was great. We walked across the road to the beach and had so much fun on the tire swing. The pool is so fun and the spa is relaxing. Late August is def a good time to visit here. Probably the most expensive place we will stay at 110 for 2 adults and 4 kids overnight. Worth it though to recharge and have fun with primo facilities and great atmosphere.

We spent almost 3 weeks at this campground while self-isolating in the COVID19 NZ lockdown, awaiting our flights back home.
Staying here was easily one of the best choices we have made in our entire trip (we have been touring NZ for almost 3 months in total).
The people here a absolutely lovely and were doing their utmost to make our stay as comfortable as possible within the rigid Level 4 guidelines.
Luton, Janeen, Andy, Manon, Tim, Henna and Rob we can't thank you enough for your hospitality in those difficult times. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your wonderful place and if we come again to NZ we'll surely check with you again!
We easily rate this place 20 out of 10 stars possible, it's an excellent choice to stay which offers everything you need & more in normal times!
Stay safe!

A good site of usual Top 10 standard.
A bit crowded and commercialised, but good for family beach holiday. It was raining when we were there, so difficult to assess on behalf of foreign tourer, but large amount of housing development behind spoiled overall impression. It was a good stop-over on the way to Coromandel.

Probably an awesome camp for families who don't know what to do with their children but know they must do SOMETHING.
Unfortunately for me there are just two of us and my partner is overseas on a business trip this week... So...I was that guy and it was awkward - which isn't their fault.
Facilities were super clean, and they had amenities on top of amenities on top of amenities.

This place was just ok.
The front desk staff person never gave us a WiFi code. Plus the first site that they gave us had a car parked on it and a large motorhome over hanging on it. When I complained they said, “o naughty person.” No apology. They did move us. This place is definitely overpriced. However the best spot if you have a smallish vehicle is site #1. It’ll put you smack dab close to the ocean.

Thanks for your feedback - I'm am sorry that you did not receive your wifi code - there is wifi on site and we are told that by the end of the year we will be getting fibre which will provide us much better reception. At times we are certainly very full and being one of the oldest parks in NZ our sites are not large.

We elected to have a powered site on the part which overlooks the beach and has access to the beautiful. This has its own spotlessley clean facilites. Just a stroll over the road leads to the main camp with a good swimming pool and hot tub. It's fun watching/feeding their "pet" eels too.

Horribly, horribly overcrowded.
We were on the beachside parallel parked part, and ended up having to move because a caravan placed next to us meant we would have been unable to drive out the next day. We were in a Britz 6 berth van, but the pitches were way too small to drive on and off without driving over adjacent pitches and there was very little manoeuvring space. The toilets were OK, but small and unisex on this part of the site. It had too many pitches for the area - just greedy, really. And this was by far the most expensive site we stayed at in 4 weeks; nothing really to justify the price, given that there are better sea views to be had from the freedom camping in the car park just next door.

We do have small sites as compared to other spaces, but unfortunately are bound by private homes - interestingly enough we are one fo the oldest holiday parks in New Zealand, and thus the sites are from days of old when guests only bought one car and a 10 by 10 tent - how times have changed. I hope you took the opportunity to read through our stories from the past

Great motels. The kids loved the pool. Everything was really just fine.
New Zealands best beach just across the street.

Families!
- this is your Holiday Destination!
For a young family with toddler and baby, It's such an effort to go away; however Waihi Beach Top 10 made it effortless, relaxing and a joy to be away! With the help of the fantastic reception staff we had a unit in a quiet pictoresque location with port-a-cot and highchair setup and ready to go. Dining was a pleasure with the bbq area under cover and right next to the indoor play area. How many of you, when you were on holiday, can say you had a romantic wine with your hubby while the kids quietly played in a safe secure area! We can!
