I camped here for one night in a tent.
I arrived late and it was rather busy, but the staff were accommodating and found me a spot in an overflow area.
The kitchen had microwaves, hobs, ovens, water boiler, fridge. There were no communal pans, cutlery, crockery though. The bathrooms were spotless (very clean indeed) and had free to use hairdryers.
The price is a little more than other campsites (I can’t remember the exact price for one person to camp, it may have been $28). You get half price entry into the thermal pools ($14 for one adult) if you stay in the park, which are a great experience and well worth it.
It’s also right next to a Marriott hotel with a restaurant and bar, their terrace has a nice view over lake Taupo.

We reserved a powered site on this park.
The parking for our motorhome was very tight. We hardly slept because it was beside a highway so you can hear every car passing by. The set up of the bathroom is a deal breaker because the hot water button is outside the shower door which they set for 6 minutes. It means you have to push the button before you undress for shower and if you are not finished showering for 6 minutes the water will suddenly get cold. You can to wrap yourself up with a towel to open the shower door to push the hot water button again. Kitchen was small but clean. We went on a shoulder season so not to crowded in this place but if its summer then this place wont have enough space since their amenities for the Holiday park is too small.

Camped for 3 nights in tent.
Didn't do my research well but these details weren't on the site as information before booking. The suburb or place the camp part is in is called "Hilltop" so it's terribly windy and not good of you're in a tent. The camping ground is right in the flight path of the airport, and the ground to pitch tents in the powered area is hard. Toilets and showers are unisex but good.

Stayed 2 nights in DeBretts camping park and had a powered site for our camper van.
The park was pretty much empty so we could choose a spot and the sites were well separated by well cared for hedges and trees.
The park is at the pricier end of the range, but you get discounts to the wonderful hot pools and de bretts baths just a short walk away.
The camp ground is extremely well maintained, the staff very polite and helpful and the location great with views of the lake and mountains.
The top marks from us go to the showers and kitchen areas. Immaculately maintained, everything is new and works well and all in excellent and very hygienic condition.
We were very glad we stayed here.

Tidy nice grounds.
Clean and tidy bathrooms, toilets, kitchen and dining area. Also a sheltered outdoor BBQ and dining area. Showers are timed for six minutes but are free. Laundry facilities are good ($4 per load to wash, and increments of $1 for drying depending on how long you want to dry). The hot pool resort on site is nice - you still have to pay entry but it's $11 per adult instead of $22, and you can use the private hot pools. The walk downhill and into town along Taupo lake is nice and takes about half an hour (we Ubered back up). The only downside is the cost - we paid $52 for two people for a powered site, however we felt it was worth it for a good rest and recharge/shower/do laundry stop

Very pricey, especially considering that you have to pay extra for using the hot pools.
A bit on the noisy side near the road.
Booked a camp site and when we arrived there was a bunch of cut grass bags on the site. Also broken beer bottle pieces all over the site. Had to first pick all those up before pitching our tent. The ground is really hard and stoney. Not so nice for tenting.
Facilities are first class. Beautiful unisex bathrooms. Showers 6 minutes with a button on the outside of the shower.
Hot pools were very nice. One has to unfortunately pay extra again to use the slides. Children's area was unfortunately not in working order. Apparently there was something wrong with the pipes. Would have been nice to get a discount for the kids because they could not use the area.

Nice place, but at $58 for two adults they should offer more inclusions.
To have the advertised experience you have to pay additional ($11 per head) if you want to use the thermal pools. There's not even a swimming pool available unless you splash out for the 'discounted' water park and spa.
Also overheard a staff member mocking a potential guest who requested a better deal for their stay while I was booking... unprofessional at best.
Facilities were great with heated bathrooms, but again there should not be timers on the showers (limits you to 6 minutes) at that price point. Camp sites are also quite close to the road to Nelson, so there's some traffic noise.
Would recommend finding somewhere better priced and using the beautiful natural spring at the Thermal Park which is free!
Could be a great experience if they sorted out the exorbitant cost... won't be back until they do.

We got the last cabin (school holidays) and we were most disappointed at what we got for the price.
Paid $97, we got 1/2 a 2 bed-room cabin. Basically they locked the door between the rooms and passed it off as a separate cabin. Our neighbours got a double bed, microwave and fridge, we got a bunk and a single bed, table and a tiny TV. No sink, no fridge, no cooking facilities or microwave, just barely room enough to swing a cat. Mattresses were foam and very uncomfortable. Just to put it into perspective, the night before at Rotorua we paid the same price for a 2 bedroom cabin, toilet and shower, electric cook-top, fridge, microwave, double bed and bunks. The rest of the facility was first class, cleanest toilets and kitchen I saw in 3 weeks in NZ, you also get $11 off per person nearby at the hot pools.

It was the most expensive campground we stayed at ($80) for 2adults/2 kids).
It was very loud from the road, the sides where small and worst of all due to upgrading of the toilets there was just on facility for male and female together with 3 toilets and 3 showers for a large campground and they have been not very clean and the toilet seat was loose. The only good thing was the pool discount. The kids loved it.

The DeBrett spa pools were very nice and enjoyable.
The campground was fine but very dense and was the noisiest place we stayed in the entire 4 weeks we were in New Zealand. Upon arriving, they asked us is we would like any spa treatments and when we tried to book something, there was no availability for anything over the next 24 hours - not sure why they asked us and handed us a brochure at check in when they had nothing available - and this was April which is not a peak time of year... A good one time experience but would not ever return to.
