The showers and toilets were dirty, definitely keep your jandles on.
The walls hadn't been cleaned properly. The permanent people there whoch were around the back so we didnt see a lot of them though the ones we did see made us feel unsafe and that soemthing would happen to our camper. We were worried about this as we went to a concert.

Avoid this place by all means. Unfriendly staff, super sketchy, we really felt unsafe here (and we just came to dump and refill water). They charge you $10 for that, however no fresh water was available…

1/10 is too generous, it should be a 0/10.
THiS PLACE IS NOT A CAMPSITE and it should not even be listed on this site to mislead unaware campers. This place is a permanent residents camp, drab, dismal and run down, not mantained, not cleaned, where a shrewed owner/manager has seen the opportunity to earn some cash on the side. I can confirm all the negative remarks already made by other customers before me. The non powered sites were not sites at all but only a weedy dirt track like waste ground at the back of toilets along a brook, no more than 2 vans could park along it and there was hardly space to turn. Most of the facilities were unusable because were either dirty or brocken. The toilet were just about ok but i didn't dare having a shower in case i picked up some disease. Not to mention the dodgy characters circulating in the area. When we arrived 4 or more police were taking away a (ill treated? aggressive? ) dog from a bungalow at the camp entrance. This should have put us on the alert...
I think this place should be reported to the authorities. Unfortunately there are no campsites this side of town and near the airport.

Spacious ammenities and nice outdoor area for socialising. More importantly the Owners were super helpful and helped fix our van!

Good for a stop over close to the centre of Auckland.
On first glance it looks a little tired but it's actually quite a clean site even if the paint is worn in a couple of areas. Was good for us.

So our final campsite in Auckland.
Avondale Campsite is certainly a starting of adventures or end point, they are used to motorhomes coming in being cleaned and tidied or being packed for the adventure.
Toilets, showers, cooking area, it's all here and the local Pak n Save only 10 mins walk from the site.
Taxi just under $40 to the airport.
It's a starting and stopping point and for that I will give it 10/10.

Staff not so friendly after a 15minute wait at the reception. We were there only to rest after our 27hrs flight so we didn't paid much attention to the surroundings. Chosen only by proximity to airport and city-centre.

Absolutely disgusting we were in our motor home and found all the amenities filthy and unusable.
We could not shower or use the washing machine as it would have made the clothes dirtier!!! Along with what looks like a refugee camp at the rear of the park overall the worst site I have experienced. We even considered going to a hotel and loosing our money. How are they still in business???

I need to start this review by pointing out I was in a self contained vehicle, so nothing I'm about to say reflects the quality of the rooms and cabins, as I'm not aware of it.
Place is not particularly beautiful and looks a bit worn down.
But the ground is flat, place is quiet, toilets looked old but were always clean, shower was hot (and there is always music playing). Plus there's is a dump station, potable water and it's close to Auckland CBD.
Good 4G.
Not bad.

If you have the option, avoid this place.
I got stung by some thieves - this is not the sort of place you can leave a vehicle unlocked for even a few minutes. Management were unsurprised, they said this happens often.
It is worth driving further and paying more to go somewhere else.
$30 for powered camper site.
Kitchen ok, toilets and shower old and dirty.

One of the most expensive holiday parks on our whole 3 week campervan trip.
$50 for one night 2 people. Feels more like a permanent resident holiday park with run down caravans and pitched tents. The only convenient thing about this place is the proximity to the airport, CBD and a pak n save. This has been the only holiday park where I feel that I actually need to lock my things up (a few dodgy looking characters about). No wifi and the toilets/showers could do with a renovation. This place wouldn't be my first pick in Auckland.

DON'T go there!!
I arrived at 11.30am, paid for two nights (non powered site). This "sites" are located behind the facilities and it is more or less a backyard street. Door on door, no privacy :( Me, as a single girl didn't felt safe. This motor park seems more to be a permanent camping place.
I came back from the city in the evening, hungry & ready for cooking. But in the kitchen, right at the gas stove where lots of cockroaches running around :(
I packed my stuff and left this place. I only got refund of the second night ($20).

1 point for the location near city centre by bus/train and 1 point for long and hot shower.
And that's it for the good points... What a creepy park! Facilities are old and not clean at all. As many permanent residents live here there is no place in the fridge in camp kitchen. 200MB for free per person are only available near the reception, in a small and dirty computer room upstair...We paid $40 per night for two adults for an unpowered campsite. Non powered sites are located close to each other in a gravel lane full of litters on the ground. I refer it to the manager but she definitively doesn't care. Consider to pay for a powered site to get your own and grassy place.

Haven't given a site less than a 4 before.
However - paid for a powered site, but no power (and extremely dodgy electrics). Cockroaches in the kitchen. Free wifi - but easy to give away what isn't there. We're told wifi only worked at the top of some stairs near the entrance - even then, only worked on one of our devices. Comfortably the worst place we've stayed in our three weeks here. Ironically, also the most expensive! Depressing to be a hostage to its location, which is admittedly quite close to the airport!

Campsite with reasonable facilities & pitches - level and not too close considering city location - 30 minutes to Britomart Centre by train ($5 single) walk to station from site approx 10 minutes.Staff helpful and friendly. Good location for end of stay clean up but not for much longer as campsite sold for housing re-development!

Perfect last stop before your holiday ends in Auckland.
Easy access to the city. Close to Avondale train station (10minute walk), instead of struggling looking for car park in the city. Clean place, everything works well. Just a bit old. Need to book because this is the best holiday park in Auckland.

We used this campground for our last night before flying out of Auckland.
Location easy enough to find. Facility was clean. Staff friendly. I can say that if you are planning to do laundry, allow extra time. Washers only use cold water. Driers had to be set for two runs to get anything dry, even on hot setting (and only 2of 3 working). Bathroom facility was clean, slow flow in showers.

This park was nice and quiet.
Amenities were good, but had to press a button on the showers after 5 minutes to keep the hot water going (and the button was on the outside of the shower door). The kitchen and laundry was good. Had to pay to wash and dry the clothes. Powered sites were reasonably priced and the service was friendly.

Well Avondale.
The last stop after 3 weeks in New Zealand. Good points. It's near a bus stop, $5 pp to the city. Near Pak n Save for shopping. Level concrete slab for campers. Friendly staff. But that is where the good ends. The bad stuff. A lot of permanent residents. Unsightly caravans. Wifi would not connect and weak signal. Didn't bother any further. Facilities - shower is hot but barely dribbles both for males and females. The floor in the bathrooms were wet everywhere like they hose them out. I mean toilets and change bench wet. It is worth it for your last night but not for more than that. Oh yeah beware of the powerlines as you drive in large campers will get close. Probably the worst place I have been in New Zealand but in their defence I usually stayed in Top 10 parks.

Good option for Auckland, out in the suburbs so you avoid driving into the city and parking which is apparently a nightmare.
10 minutes walk to train station, 30 minute pleasant train ride into the city. Decent facilities, lots of permanent residents with caravans onsite. Was a good place for us to finish our trip and spend our evening sorting out the van. $45 for 2 adults on a powered site. Book ahead or get there early as it fills up very quickly.

This is a very tidy motor park.
Spotless bathrooms, nice free showers, decent sized communal kitchen (no communal pots/plates), laundry. It cost us $36 for two people in a camper van on an unpowered site. Note: the unpowered section is more like a gravel driveway off to the side, with almost half of it on a slope. The flat area fills up quickly with a few vans, and I could see it quickly running out of space during busy times.

Fairly large campsite, well equipped and maintained.
Free BBQ, 24/7kitchen but not heated and no dining room. Wifi available but not working everywhere. A big amount of permanent residents. Children's Playground. A 10 minute walk to the train which takes you to the centre of Auckland. 35 minutes and it goes through Mount Eden, Eden Park ... great sort of places to see! Ideal to visit the city without worrying about parking and traffic. Also you can wash and vacuum the vehicle on site.
