We were meant to stay here for 3 days, but ended up being 5.

We have stayed at a lot of places. This holiday park is by far the most expensive. However, this place is our favourite park in the whole of NZ.

We absolutely love it here, so we'll definitely be back!

Such a great location right on the beach!

I was nervous about the bad reviews but the park was awesome. The beach front powered site was large and was literally on the sand!

Staff were so friendly and helpful. The amenities were a bit old but very clean. The hot water would slow if others were using it. Grey and black water dumping on site was a bonus.

    The cabins looked super cute.

The cafe next door is awesome.

We choose this site because we needed a powered site for the first night.

The location is nice, near by the beach. There is a Coffee bar close by. The facilities are not that special and the location is a little far from the city center.

Please avoid this place as much as possible extremely crowded and only one washing machine to service 30 camper vans parked today and the washer and dryer is being used by the hotel staff since morning

. There is no courtesy shown by a scantily dressed woman working there.

    Overpriced.

Tiny campervan sites. Our neighbor got stuck in the mud because the gravel pads are loose and small. The host/reception was rude. It was very crowded. Noisy late into the night. Trash cans overflowing. The dump station is literally a toilet outside. There was a cat living in the woman’s bathroom. If you’re looking for a beach location, this is fine, but there are better places around.

Average place that you pay for the location.

Bit wet underfoot and had to navigate walking through campsites on way to toilet to avoid walking through mud. Average facilities but they kept them clean. With that said you can't beat the view. But a bit pricey at $45 for myself on a site I didn't use power on

Paid 60+ bucks for 2 person (there is no unpowered sites).

Toilet looks old but clean, there is no tv lounge area, grass sites are super muddy (rainy season), kitchen has limited facilities and too small.

The most worse campsite i have been to in the last years and the worst in Newzealand🙈 Our site at the beach had a view on the public parking lot.

There was mud in stead of grass. The toilets and showers were old and in bad condition. Its a one star and not a four star place. Never again…

We picked up our Wilderness Campervan in Mangere near Auckland and wanted our first few nights to be somewhere close.

We booked two nights in the Holiday Park as our initial experience. Checkin was easy and the hosts were pleasant. We had just come through a torrential down pour and the spot we were assigned was muddy and uneven. We did not have leveling blocks but overall it was not too bad. We had no idea of costs as they related to the different parks and charging per person was something very different for us. This parks location near the ocean and close enough to walk to town are its biggest amenities. The park itself is sadly in need of an upgrade and frankly for the amenities offered I feel is way over priced. We paid 139.00 NZD per night for 4 people in a powered site. Looking back, this is the most we’ve paid in any park thus far and the amenities, parking area and age of the park do not justify the expense in my mind. Now location? That is amazing!

The camping was full when we came in so they parked us on a visitors parking spot next to the garbage bins.

Then we left for half hour and someone else was parked in our spot. And the unfriendly office lady squished us between two campsite sites (literally 5ft away from 3 other camper vans).

Camping spots are very tight like a parking lot. Facilities are old, barely clean and there is no hang out spot. Kitchen has no oven, only 2 cheap hot plates, and two fridges for 60+ sites.

Sadly, it’s the best reviewed place in Auckland.

Keep in mind that this is a campsite in the city.

So more expensive and more crowded.

Prime location but very crammed in.

Stayed here for the last night of our trip and it was the downfall. A powered site next to the beach was so appealing but you’re very close to multiple very harsh lights and it’s makes it so hard to sleep even with heavy curtains. There is constant noise from surrounding buildings unfortunately. Bathrooms are outdated and not the cleanest showers but overall it does the job. Just don’t get a spot by the beach walk.

Unlimited wifi, no issues with that.

You really couldn’t stay in a better spot near central Auckland.

It’s so beautiful, nearly on the beach. Everything is spotless clean, staff is friendly. Some equipment is brand new, others I guess is about to change since there are new owners who really seems to go for an update of the site. We loved staying here an would definitely recommend!

The facilities are dated but clean. The sites are a bit crowded together but staff are friendly and helpful. The beach cafe is lovely where I ate breakfast. Great views but I had a camper van parked in front!

We stayed here the first night of our holiday in a 6 berth motorhome.

Because the site is liable to be built on by developers the management can't invest in updating the facilities. The facilities are usable but past their best. However, the view across the bay is wonderful and Takapuna is really nice. The management were helpful and it's worth putting up with the out dated facilities to stay in Takapuna. If your a motorcyclist it's worth visiting Barrys Point Road to look at all the bike shops. Lots of nice places to eat within short walk and lots of shops to look at. You can catch a bus to Devonport (half hour ride) and then a ferry to Central Auckland. We also stayed here at the end of our holiday.

Scoring this park is very difficult.

It's got great views, right on the beach and has toilets/showers, kitchen and hairdryer in the toilets. The manager was friendly. Other than that there really is nothing good to say, it is small, tired and run down, the 'pitches' aren't clearly marked, mainly made up of permanent trailers/vans. Such a strange place for a lovely location. If you need to stay in Takapuna then stay here, if not then maybe see if you can find somewhere better.

    It's a little tired.

The facilities are fine, but the overall vibe is a bit sketchy given the setting. The old 1970s trailers taking up most of the spots (I guess you can hire) make the place feel run down. Okay for a stop into Takapuna but wouldn't suggest staying long.

The upside is you are right on Takapuna beach and a short stroll to great cafes, restaurants and pubs (although expensive). If you can secure a waterfront spot (we didn't) it will soften the blow.

So very noisely from the morning to the evening. But the facilities... old, dirty, terrible... it´s so, like another has write it down some months before... we planed to stay 3 nights here, but after we have seen the CP in realitiy, we stayed only 1 night and went our way...

    Beautiful beachside caravan park.

Very reasonable rate. We had beach view and partner loved it. It's a shame the council who owns site want to sell the land to developers, this is why the current lease owner doesn't want to spend money to fix/upgrade facilities, which are OK, but not great.
