    Quiet and clean.

Has a quirky bathroom setup in a caravan which was spotless the entire 5 days I camped there. Bryce, the camp manager is very welcoming and has a wealth of knowledge regarding the local history. He is also a bit of a jack of all trades and very kindly did a repair to my vehicle. Prices are low; $15 per night in a safe environment.

The camp is perfectly situated for my needs, it’s at the gateway to the Far North, is close to a decent sized town (Kaitaia) and is a hop, skip and jump away from KareKare Peninsula, Taiapa and Cable Bay.

I will be back; it’s the perfect place for all my Far North adventures.

We stayed at this campsite for an extended period, and it truly became a home away from home.

The owner is incredible friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. The campsite is spacious, well-maintained, and offers a fantastic hot shower that was always clean. It is clear that a lot of care and effort go into maintaining this place. This is undoubtedly one of the best campsites we have ever stayed at. Highly recommended!

    Awesome campground with lovely manager!

The black camper with toilet and shower in it is spaceous and cool! Only downsite is that there's just the one and the light in it stopped working during the night. Not sure if they're solar powered and out of power or we just didnt find the light switch.

Stayed 1 night after going to Cape Reinga.

We had the field all to ourselves and got to enjoy a nice hot shower! Bathroom is clean and the place is very peaceful.

    The manager is very friendly!

Very nice place for the price!

Amazing little place, we turned up after dark and the owner lives on site so just came straight out, didn't have cash so did a bank transfer, so easy and super affordable compared to other places - places

charge more that don't have a flushing toilet or hot shower. Just one toilet and shower inside a converted caravan, really quirky. Hot shower is great. We were the only people staying so had it to ourselves, loved it. Owner was really nice. Wish there were more places like it!

    Amazing manager of the campsite!

The campsite is very simple and has everything you would need: hot shower and a bathroom.

We got stuck on the way and arrived quite late but were accepted no problem. And the lights in the campsite turn off during the night, we saw the best night sky in NZ so far.

    All in all: amazing value.

This was one of the best campsites I've stayed at in 5 months.

Bryce (the owner) is incredibly helpful and just super nice. It’s a basic campsite with one flush toilet and one shower. As others have written, the shower in particular is incredibly good (hot shower with great water pressure). Good reception is available and the sky by night is just fantastic. I can only recommend it to everyone!

Stayed here for almost 5 weeks because of work nearby and it felt like home immediately. But it’s also a great location for just a few nights as Cape Reinga is only 1h up north.

Again, thank you for everything Bryce!

Out in the middle of nowhere, it's a no-frills piece of pure heaven.

If you're looking for peace and quiet, with nothing but the Bush and stars for company, this is the place for you. If you're looking for luxury... nope. Although the shower facility is kind of neat.

    Great place!

Nothing to complain about here, and the saying ‘hidden gem’ definitely applies. Nice, clean toilets with warm showers, a quiet open field with more than enough space, and a very friendly welcome by the owners. We stayed here for 2 nights after visiting Cape Reinga and felt very welcomed by the owners who offered to take our rubbish, as well as show us some nice walking routes - Got some good advice for our travels too :)

Very nice campground with an even nicer campground manager.

He let us stay wherever we wanted, gave us wifi and even let es charge our phones. We could also get things delivered to his address. When we needed help he was always there to help 👍🏻 There is a toilet and a warm shower that can be used 24/7.

Such a nice and friendly manager!

He helped us with our car, we could charge our devices and send our post to this address. We stayed here for a months and it has a big area where you can choose your spot. A new toilet and shower.

It is a new camping ground and has a lot of potential and I am sure, this is going to be great! Thank you for everything!!!
