Einfach ein etwas größerer Schotterplatz nicht besonders schön aber erfüllt seinen Zweck.

    It's pretty basic camp ground.

Has clean port a loo. The view of the mountains is nice. Would give it a better rating if it felt a bit more special. Otherwise perfect spot if you just need to sleep, go toilet then get back on the road the next day. Also it's close to town as well.

It's right next to the rubbish dump, so pretty smelly when the wind blows the wrong way and the local hoons were pretty obnoxious, we got woken up at 1am.

Also the portaloos are almost full. On the plus side, you can walk into town and the tent pegs go into the ground okay... if you really want to camp in central Kaikoura and don't want to pay $50 per night then go for it, but we'll be going up the coast for the rest of our time here!
