We (german couple, 28y) have rented a Campervan with Hazy Campers for the last 30 days (found via Rankers) - and we are extremely happy with our decision!
+ Adam (Owner) was super responsive from the beginning of our research six month ago till the check-out, reaching him via WhatsApp was really convenient and he helped us a lot answering our questions quickly.
+ The Check-In in Christchurch went totally smooth - same goes for the Check-Out in Auckland.
+ The Van (Toyota HiAce, less than 100k km) itself was easy to drive (automatic transmission) and to handle, with almost no downsides compared to a larger motorhome (having therefore a great value for money).
+ Hazy provides towels, complete kitchen equipment as well as folding chairs/table, so the usual "we need shop what the rental company did not put in" was not necessary, making our start even easier.
+ The interior is thought-through (and super new, from 2024), everything is very simple to use so despite being camping newbies we found our routine straight from the beginning (supported by the user guide and video).
- The Van had no CarPlay / Android Auto - but the Bluetooth Radio incl. charging option was totally sufficient for us.
-> All in all, we can recommend everyone to rent with Hazy Campervans for a great Van and great value for money!

We rented a campervan from Hazy for five weeks and couldn’t have been happier!
The van was fresh, easy to drive, and felt spacious despite its size. It was perfectly suited for winding and narrow roads, with plenty of storage space — the ideal vehicle for our road trip.
Adam was super friendly, easy to reach, and quick to respond.

Brand-new campervan, perfectly sized.
Easy to park in a regular parking spot, yet with a bed long enough to sleep comfortably. The campervan is fully equipped. Adam was extremely helpful and quick to answer any questions.

We spent two weeks traveling in a campervan from Hazy Campers in January 2026, and it was really amazing.
The van was comfortable, cleverly laid out, and very easy to handle, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We had no issues accessing campsites or getting around. The team was outstanding—always quick to respond, flexible, and supportive whenever we needed help. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hazy Campers to anyone looking for a stress-free campervan adventure.

We were genuinely surprised at how well stocked the Hazy Camper van was — it even had toilet paper and bin liners (which we forgot to pack), which made things so much easier.
The off-grid setup with the solar panels was a total game changer. Being able to use the sink, shower and fridge properly while freedom camping made the whole trip far more comfortable.
There’s great storage, a really neat and clean space to hang out in, and the bed was genuinely comfortable with good pillows and a warm duvet. Toll costs being covered was another nice bonus, and the guys running it are awesomely helpful and easy to deal with.
We thought hiring a camper would be a one-off, but we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

I had a fantastic time with the campervan.
Booking and communication from Germany was wonderfully straightforward. They even arranged the handover outside of opening hours. Everything you could possibly need was in the vehicle. Great staff, Elijah has been very accommodating and super helpful from start to finish of our experience.
Vehicle provided has been a dream to use, presents exceptionally well for our needs, easy transition from seated with table during the day to a bed for the nights.
The head room and ability to stand upright in the back has been a greatly welcomed luxury...
12v battery system backed up by Solar makes this a beast to keep our devices charged whilst being off-grid.

Campervan rented for 13 days.
We did a lot of research on campervan available and hazy was the one with better offer and conditions, plus the best reviews as well.
It has good space, new van and clean inside. The free clean bed sheets, blankets and towels were a plus and very handy. Everything that we needed were there.
Elijah was the person that we meet to get the keys over in Auckland, he explained everything to us, very friendly and patient, giving us some tips of places as well.. Adam was always replying any emails I would send straight away, they are very good on the communication.
The van also has a Good space for storage and good bed set-up it is great to have a table and place to stay in case of rain, what happens very often in NZ..
I totally recommend Hazy group.

We rented a campervan for 3 weeks and I have nothing but good things to say about Hazy!
Everything went super smoothly. The van was as advertised and we felt safe driving it around the South Island. Adam was super easy to deal with and answered any questions we had really quickly. We picked up the van in Christchurch and therefore had no one there to explain how everything works but it was not a problem at all since Adam sent us a video and documents showing us all the details.
If I were to return to New Zealand, I would definitely rent with Hazy again!

The van was in perfect shape, super comfortable and very cleverly fitted out, as opposed to many other campervans we saw along our trip.
Everything we needed was there. Driving was so smooth and the mileage on the gas tank quite good for such a vehicle. On top of that great communication and flexibility from Adam, who is genuinely a nice guy and always replied very quickly.
For a hassle-free and comfortable campervan rental, I recommend these guys 100%!
