Welcome to Renwick. If you like wine then this is the place to stay!
Maximum limit of 20 spaces. If there's 20 campers already here when you arrive, then you'll have to find another place to stay.
The responsible camping area at the Renwick Domain Carpark is located in an area allocated within the centre car parking area, near the Renwick Domain Skate Park.

Carpark map.
There is to be no washing hung outside of the vehicle and there is to be no cooking outside of the vehicle.
No person may responsible camp except in the area shown and must be in a certified self-contained vehicle.
Vehicle numbers are limited to 20 to be parked between the hours 6.00 pm - 9.00 am. The maximum period anyone can camp in this area is two consecutive nights in any four-week period.

A nice, quiet carpark (on a Wed), can fit max 20 cars.
The freecamp space is clearly marked in yellow. There were 10 of us when we camped there, so plenty of space for everyone. Felt safe the whole time. Really clean toilets nearby.

Good clean public toilets available 24/7, near a couple of pubs and a small supermarket.
Ideal if you want somewhere free outside of Blenheim. I even got picked up here for a wine tour!

A large car park next to a sports field with spaces available from 6pm til 8am.
Public toilets close by and are open all night. A short walk to a small supermarket, butchers, bakers and an excellent coffee shop. There is also an ‘English’ pub. Excellent location for visiting local wineries especially if you do it by bike. We would highly recommend Wine Tours by Bike who are within walking distance of the domain.

Ruhige Lage am Sportplatz. 20 eingezeichnete Parkplätze. Nebenan Toiletten im sportcenter.

At the dog’s park there is another freedom camping area which isn’t mentioned on the app and where you can go (has 5 marked spots), toilets and is very quiet next to the Forest wineyard.

Allocated area in car parking lot.
Nice and flat and with good, clean flushing toilets nearby. According to the 2023 council byelaw number of spaces has increased from 10 to 20 although signage at the car park has not, as of yet, been updated. Convenience store and fish and take away really close round the corner too!

Flat, tarmac surface, clean toilets in the sports block, well lit all night, wide open space all around the rec fields.
Only stay in the numbered spaces close to the car park entry, you can stay until 9am. Small supermarket, nice butchers and bakery, pub, tavern and take away all within walking distance. Thank you Renwick for the great space, we felt welcome and safe and it was blissfully quiet all night.

Arrived at the parking lot early and no one was there.
Thought this was a beautiful spot to park up until… someone from the Sports and Events centre made snarky remarks to my partner about campers. We were parked in the correct zone allocated so didn’t see the issue. Then some noisy cars came and parked nearby which made me feel uneasy as more cars turned up. I just couldn’t shake that feeling of unwelcomeness so we took off after only an hour of being parked up. Went to Taylors Pass instead and felt better. Hopefully your experience will be better

Well lit.
Clean toilets. We stayed here because we did a wine bike tour during the day. Really nothing to complain about when it's free. No problems with noise for us

Initially looked like it would be a lovely quite spot only 2 other vans.
Then the local boy racers turned up loud cars and people. Within minutes of them leaving another group turned up we left the grounds at 3am as couldnt cope. It must be the place for the young ones to gather. Is a public spot so guess its always possible.

Clean toilet facilities, well lit.
We arrived at dark and took the last spot. Big carpark Large Trucks Cars and Campers parked up when we were here. Is a sport facility with playground beside clubrooms. We had a good overnight experience here.

Went 15 minutes to 6pm to see how was the camping and It was already full even if the rule is from 6pm

Had the worst night of my life here.
Drunk locals progressed from loud music to yelling abuse at campers, to banging on our campervan to rocking the campervan and final to throwing full beer cans at it. We got zero sleep because of that and stadium lights shining in. Avoid if you have young children or wish to sleep at night.

Just a large car park by the sports ground.
Nothing special but clean proper toilets are open all night by the club house as the end of the car park and there’s a nice pub down the road to have a drink at aswell. Good for doing the wine tours by bike. Bike 2 Wine should be used as they are amazing.

Good place to stay for a night.
Access to toilet all night. Arrived at 7pm and we had the last parking place but we were lucky. Make sure you park on the place with a number on it.

It’s just an ugly car park near a sport pitch.
It has 10 spots that were all taken when we arrived, but we were more than happy to go somewhere else for the night. We ended up at Taylor Pass, just 20 minutes away, and really enjoyed it.

Useful freedom camping spot for the wine tours in Renwick.
There is normal daytime parking there as well, but just ten spots for overnight campers. Toilets were 50m away and clean as it’s part of a rugby ground/sports centre, so got quite busy in the morning. Main downside was local kids coming by and playing loud music at night, quite clearly intended to annoy the campers (luckily when one of them accidentally played Avril Lavigne they got embarrassed and left). Also be aware that this place is right next to a volunteer fire station. We didn’t know this, so it was a bit spooky when the sirens went off over the whole town at 3am to call in the volunteers! Good for its convenience.

Car park camping for self contained vehicles.
The bays are clearly marked out, it's in a rugby club car park. Choice of two toilet blocks, both were of a good standard. Short walk to shops, bars (recommend Cork and Keg - you can hire bikes from here to tour wineries) and takeaways. For those of you who are light sleepers, truckers use it as a turning around spot before they park up nearby, but that didn't bother us. Less than 30 minutes drive to Picton ferry.

It is free and central, but be aware where you park.
There are very small numbers on the spots you are allowed to park on and they are close to the middle line. Also, it is light at night and loud and busy with trucks. There is a ranger who checks the compliance with the rules and sends people away who did not park correctly.

It has toilets and there's some food places in walking distance. And it's free.

Large car park, but only a couple of spots are available for campers.
Toilets are just off the nearby sports centre. Very bright floodlights and had some loud kids in the domain nearby even at 11pm, but your experience may be different.

Very large parking lot.
Clean toilets. Nice views but felt somewhat deserted (end of Dec 2015).
