    Ainsley is a great host!

Waiwhenua was one of the most enjoyable stays we have had.

We camped here for 5 days with our then 11 month old and we got to enjoy the place with near to no guests for majority of our stay. The bush baths and bush kitchen are well worth the price and very unique experiences. Woodfire pizza oven is a must! So bring food snd pizza bases for it.

    10/10 would come back here.

Great location and a lovely welcome from the hosts.

Camping/RV site down by the river. Rankers’ information needs updating as two powered sites (we used one). Recommend pre-booking. Luckily we had host who guided us to the RV site (not obvious where to go). Good communication via website www.waiwhenua.co.nz and host (we were booking online as the host drove up!). Site has ‘bush baths’ which looked fun and we’re being fired up whilst we were there. Mobile signal can be a bit sketchy (best we got was 3G as of November 2022) but a fantastic location on this working farm if you want a quiet, off-the-grid, secluded stay.

We spent the most peaceful night parked in a meadow by the river at this beautiful site.

We chose a non-powered site for our campervan which l gave us flexibility on the site but with the use of all other facilities: clean toilets and showers and a “bush bath” which we didn’t get the chance to use. Ainsley and Will were very welcoming and helpful. Disappointed that we couldn’t stay longer but would highly recommend for absolute peace and quiet in an idyllic location.
