Big open space with nice view.

Plenty of trees to hide if it gets windy. Toilets not far away but no water available. Had a great night here!

Nice view of the lake, a little windy.

The bathroom was clean. There wasn't water to wash the dishes. There is a common dining room with a big table.

We saw a beautiful and colourful sunset

    Beautiful spot for freedom campers.

The wind was insane so try to park near some hedges. Bathrooms were dirty and did not have sinks.

    Beautiful spot.

Was a bit disappointed that the grass was so long. And obviously the self contained only has totally gone over some people's heads. Part of it looks like a shanty town. Bit of a fire hazard with all the tall dry grasses on the edge of the lake. But definitely quiet.

    Beautiful free campsite.

The toilets were fine (not very clean, but reasonable). The worst problem there, were some flies. They kept sitting on you and intruding your car. Therefor we were forced to go to bed early. We couldn't find a spot where those flies were not around. There was also a lot of wind, but when you put your car horizontally next to the bushes, it was do-able.

    HUGE domain area.

Grassy, not the fattest, bumps galore. 2 long drop toilets. Lake has beautiful birdlife. Sunset was awesome at very end of domain, sunrise was beautiful on the left.

Great spot, just needs water and rubbish.

Heaps of spots, nice toilets and even has great reception for our kids to do school work👌🏽👌🏽

Nice large area right by the lake.

What's letting it down a bit are all the permanent parked up vehicles and a pile of rubbish bags on a big heap by the toilets. Can be very windy too.

Ae marika, very peaceful spot if you park on the righthand side, disability toilets are clean.

Windy at times but still an awesome place to stay. You can park right next to the lake.

Beautiful stay right by the lake with some lovely walks and lots of bird life.

Heaps of space to park up for a night (or two)

Very cold in the morning in July, so make sure you bring a blanket or three :)

We haven't camped at a prettier or more peaceful lake before.

So many swans and other birds on the lake.

A unexpected bonus was that there is wi fi and cell phone coverage despite reading comments that there was none.

Heaps of room and easy flat parking right beside the lake or under the trees.

    A quiet and peaceful spot.

Lovely lake, awesome sunsets, brilliant for stargazing. There are two composting toilets, a large undercover eating area, plenty of rubbish bins but no water supply . You can camp lakeside at numerous spots, or beneath large trees for shade. A fantastic spot with no overnight charge.

    Bit off the beaten track.

Very quite only a handful campers. Adequate toilet facilities. Woke up to beautiful lake. Great for stop over off ferry.

I think this place would be lovely in the summer, loads of parking space the driveway has lots of pot holes.

A very windy place as the wind comes off the Remutaka’s and builds up across the lake. Thanks

    Really nice spot.

Heaps of space. Wouldn't want to swim in lake. No water, clean long drop toilets. Nice little shelter area with big table.
