Coronet was an awesome experience!
My pilo twas Tom who was clear confident and cool. I booked on the day and have never done anythinglike this before. I'm 50years old and thought I should give it a go. Travelling alone I was hesitant. I needn't have been. One of the best things I've done! Just do it!

We were picked up by a van and some of the pilots to head to Coronet Peak.
Within a few minutes we were set up, walked, ran and flew! You get to steer yourself and end with a corkscrew before landing, 15-20 minutes after take-off. Very relaxed feeling and great views along the way, highly recommend (though very weather dependant, we had to reschedule three times).
Awesome, Bram Hoonhout. Glad you enjoyed your flying experience with us. You are right, pargliding and hang gliding is a very weather dependent activity, similar to skydiving, hence we always recommend to plan in our activity at the beginning of your stay in Queenstown - more chances for flying.

Very upset that I was denied a refund when the pilots decided I was too heavy to fly.
Instead I was forced to take a disappointing paragliding trip when I preferred my money back. I was denied a lifelong dream today and feel like I want to cry.

I am sorry you feel disappointed. When you booked through our website it stated the maximum weight of 90kg for the hang gliding in various places including on your ticket. You advised us with your body weight of 91kg. The 1kg over would have been acceptable but unfortunately you weighed in at 100kg. We take our safety standards very seriously for the safety of passengers and pilots. Rather than you losing your money, we offered you the paragliding, which you accepted. Please refer to our terms and conditions on your ticket (also on the Q&A page of our website). It states a no refund for exceeding the suggested passenger weight.

Good flight, service could be better, they rushed me and my husband in the time of 1 person, while we paid for 2 and also had to pay for the photo's while the flyer said 'free inflight photos'.

I am glad you had a good flight.
In regards to your feedback re getting rushed this might have had to do with the weather conditions. Sometimes it is critical to get off the hill quick smart if the weather conditions deteriorate. This decision is made by the pilots on take off following our safety procedures.
The free inflight photos are only with paragliding and not hang gliding, so I am thinking you must have gone hang gliding.

The flight was a little bit too short for the price of $189.
But friendly staff and people.

Many thanks for the feedback and am glad you enjoyed your flight experience with our crew. I am sorry to hear you found your flight a little short. We fly off the highest of the flying sites here in Queenstown. Also paragliders and hang gliders have not got a motor that can allow us to stay up in the air for any particular time. Flight times therefore vary as we totally rely on what Mother Nature gives us. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels through New Zealand.

A fantastic, phenomenal and exhilarating experience of a lifetime!!
Before this I didn't have the faintest idea of what tandem paragliding really is, until I made the decision to join my friends and just go for it.
Initially, I was pretty nervous at the thought of running off the edge of a cliff. However, I had a very experienced pilot, Keith, who assured me that he'd be in control and all I needed to do was just to follow his instructions. It calmed my nerves down and I took a leap of faith, so to speak and WOW!!
This is one of the best life-changing experience for me ever!!
Way to go. Hip Hip Hooray!.... :)

First time tandem paragliding at 66!
I was well looked after, felt confident with the crew and had a fantastic experience. Petr was a wonderful pilot and allowed me to take a turn at the controls before we did some spins. Great adrenalin rush and would do it again in an instant. Top marks to the whole team

Good paragliding pilots, location allows longer flights than competitor, transport provided, price is high.

As you pointed out we fly from the highest of the flying sites in Queenstown. We include transport as well as the in-flight photos for the tandem paragliding. You mentioned that price is high. Comparing prices of all paragliding and hang gliding companies in Queenstown, I can safely say that we are all about the same price range and with us including in-flight photos for the paragliding and a free transport and accommodation pick up, we are adding free value to our product.

Friendly guide, english not too good and there should be some more prep talk about landing, steering etc.

Many thanks for taking the time to review us on Rankers. We do have a very friendly, highly qualified team working for us. Some of them come from overseas, enriching the crew with lots of experience and different languages. Our pilots come from Spain, Venezuela, Germany, Japan, Sweden, England, the Netherlands, Italy and of course we got some Kiwis working for us. This is handy for briefings on take off. You mentioned that you would have liked to see more prep talk about landing, steering, ... Most of our clients are first timers and are actually quite nervous. We do find that too much information often just confuses people and the standard well thought through briefing that all our pilots are doing has proven to be very successful. We do like to give the pilots the controls at times during the flights and explain how it all works.

Great trip - felt very safe.
Photos were included in the price. Highest peak in the area - around 4000ft.

Great to hear you had a good time paragliding with us. As you pointed out, we fly off the highest of the commercial take off points in Queenstown. In summer our take off point is at 3800ft and in winter we go even up to 5400ft, which gives you mega height. To give people an idea, it is twice the height of the Queenstown Gondola in winter.
Maybe we can take you hang gliding next time you come to Queenstown.

I take it you flew with us off our winter paragliding take off at the summit of Coronet Peak. This gives fantastic views over the whole Queenstown and even Wanaka area and with 1100m vertical this is more than twice the height as off the Queenstown Gondola. :-)
Maybe next time you visit Queenstown, we can take you hang gliding.

the hang gliding itself was awesome - I would give that a 11 out of 10.
the guy that took us there was not very social or especially friendly - just average.The pilots were all foreign but that was no problem.
The reason I substract a couple of points is because we had to wait quite some time for the others in the group to take their jump first, and because it felt like the owner (our driver) was only interested to take our money.
all in all still an unforgettable experience!

In regards to your points you made, why you deducted some points: The duration of the experience depends on the number of passengers that come on a trip. Also a factor in all this plays the weather. Sometimes the conditions on take off prompt us to wait a little for the right wind on take off. One of our priorities is to make sure that everyone is safe and therefore waiting a little for the perfect wind is important. You would have been able to wait at the little café at the landing site, which does awesome coffees.
Our drivers on duty are also managing the day to day operation, which can be hectic and stressful, especially on a busy summer's day. I am sorry if the driver on your trip was not very social. Noting that you reviewed us during our busiest time of the year, summer, I am guessing that it was a very busy flying day with lots to do for the ops manager. Please accept our apologies. I am sure he did not mean to make you feel that way.
