Nomad Safaris

Explore the New Zealand high country with the Professional Adventurers!

Nomad Safaris operates 4WD tours using a fleet of modern off-road vehicles. With either half or full-day tours, Nomad Safaris offers off-road adventures around the Queenstown area. Nomad Safaris 4WD tours encompass everything from Lord of the Rings tours to historical gold mining tours. Our 4WD tours explore locations around Queenstown, including Arrowtown, Glenorchy, Paradise. We also visit stunning back-country locations such as Skippers Canyon and Macetown.

With us you can explore Lord of the Rings filming locations and Otago gold mining settlements. You will witness stunning Southern Lakes scenery, from Lake Wakatipu to the Shotover and Arrow Rivers. We will also explore the Remarkable Mountains, Fiordland beech forests and stunning Aotearoa skyscapes. We will tell you about New Zealand Maori folklore and European pioneer culture while painting a vivid picture of this wonderful land.
All this is on offer while you relax in the comfort and warmth of our true offroad vehicles. We use Land Rover Defenders and Toyota Landcruisers which are specifically built to handle the various types of 4WD terrain we take you to. Each of our 4WD vehicles holds up to six passengers so your time with us is very personal. We love to tell stories about Lord of the Rings and our beautiful lands to create special memories for you.

We will show you the beauty and magic of New Zealand. You’ll feel forever connected with this small country at the bottom of the world. You’ll be wishing you did not have to go back to your own reality.

Welcome to our reality.

    This company is great.

We did Skippers Canyon Land Rover 4 hour tour. Scenery and drive is spectacular (see their website or brochures).

We got a pickup in Arrowtown and a great driver guide (Paul). Great Insights, humor and driving. It isn't cheap $175pp but if you are budgeting for peak experiences do this.

I did the skippers canyon 4WD tour and the quad biking two days later, the Guides were so friendly and had so many brilliant stories about the frontier days of queenstown and the surrounding area.

the skippers canyon is amazing, I even had a go at panning for gold! The quad bike ride was really fun, i'd personally recomend a wet day so you can ride through all the puddles and splash through the mud! but thats just my opinion! Queenstown is AWESOME!

Wasn't a Kiwi either which I found disappointing.

Nikki, our guide was awesome and very knowledgeable about the local area and our tour which included Lord of the Rings scenery.

She made sure our whole family enjoyed the time spent. Went straight home and watched the movies again. Fun and enjoyable day.

I expected more offroading. Good for those people that don't have their own rental car or motorhome.

Friendly but they don't take you to the actual location but somewhat close - almost there. Frustrating.
