I flew last month with U-Fly, in their brand new plane.
It was so much easier than I thought and it was by far the best way to see the scenery of Lake Wanaka on our time schedule in the South Island. I even had a go of flying the plane, myself-great fun!

I finished my one year NZ experience with flying a plane myself through the beautiful area of Lake Wanka, towards Mt.
Aspiring and Lake Hawea and it's really one of the best things I did during my trip through New Zealand - and its really so cool and far better than just flying a plane on a Flight Simulator (I did this several times) thx so much for the great experience, Ruth!

Absolutely brilliant!
Without any previous experience you get to fly a plane yourself with Ruth, a fully qualified and wonderful instructor by your side. There is no better way to see the beautiful scenery of New Zealand's South Island.The lakes and mountains around Wanaka are truly majestic. This is an experience that cannot be surpassed.

A few years ago I wrote a wish list of exciting activities to do whilst I was living in New Zealand.
However I never imagined that one day I would be able to add to that list the simply wonderful experience of being at the controls of a plane amongst the magnificent Southern Lakes region. Ruth is an excellent tutor, she inspires great confidence and her enthusiasm for this brilliant activity is very infectious. If you are ever lucky enough to find yourself in this part of the world, allocate an extra day to stay in Wanaka and do this. You will not regret it it - a fabulous experience.

It was my dream as a child to fly a plane.
With U-Fly at least I could savour the experience of flying a plane for 30 minutes while maneouvering to take a closer look at Wanaka lake and snow covered mountains. Ruth was great and it is quite safe since she is there. Even our six year old could experience the thrill of flying.
