What an amazing campsite located on two surf beaches and a calm estury less than an hour from Whangarei.
Long drop toilets, cold water taps & showers, but no powered sites.
Amazing views from most locations but only open during the summer months.

Stunning setting.
Very cleverly laid out so you didn’t feel on top of one another. Toilets all long drops but clean and non smelly (use the newer ones) only cold showers.
They have cut walks along the coastline and can walk into town. No wifi. Definitely recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer

We were late November, almost the only guests on 75ha dreamland with three beautiful beaches to choose from.
It is worth a trip over here ... something nicer, there is little. Place no. 1 at Kings Beach is a great location.
Cold shower house and toilet cottage has spread it all over the place. No public kitchen so self containt necessary.
Those looking for Robinson Bay is right here.
Thanks to the farmer that he lets us share in his paradise.

One of the most amazing camping places in New Zealand.
Every camping spot has a view of the sea or estuary, there are private beach camping areas away from everyone with own toilet and fresh water. We stayed in motorhome overlooking kings beach and sea. There are many walks one in particular over to another secluded beach and to the estuary which is great for snorkelling. Kings beach is great for swimming, fishing, boogy boarding and surfing. The shop takeaway in Whananaki has wicked hot chips and they sell alcohol as well as the usual shop items also second hand books. Will definitely return and recommend this to all travellers to New Zealand as well as New Zealanders as a place to stay.

If you like DOC camps and are happy to have a long drop toilet and a cold shower...this place is probably the best camp we've stayed at in NZ, and we've stayed at a lot!
Just amazing views, really good hosts and awesome snorkelling and kayaking. Everything is set up for an easy holiday.. ...just beware the local shop although handy for an ice-cream or chocolate is blinking expensive, make sure you take everything you need with you.

Simply stunning.Its a working farm so there are cows around.
But the place is huge. We parked on the edge of a cliff overlooking the beach. There are campsites hidden all throughout the area with some being beach access only (truly secluded). There are 3 beaches and climb the fence to enter teh conservation for even more stunnin views and beaches. Truly a gem for camping in Northland. Note we were there in March so it was very quiet... I imagine it can get busy. And there is only a dairy in town.... so pack appropriately.

The facilities are basic but the site is really really nice - and huge at that!
There are 2 lovely beaches and a bay to enjoy and a beach walk along to local village shop.

We stayed here for 1 night.
+ Fantastic view and the sites are right on the beach,
+ Awesome location,
+ Friendly staff,
- A lot more expensive than expected (minimum $28 a night per pitch) all unpowered,
- Long drop toilets, unexpected for the cost of the sites,
