My husband and I chartered a Bavaria 38 for 12 days in the Hauraki Gulf - an excellent cruising area. She was very carefully maintained and sailed very well. Also a very good, reliable engine. Well equipped with lots of useful storage space.
Peter Drew was exceedingly helpful and friendly. He helped to ensure that we had a really good holiday.

Chartering from a great distance like Germany can be tricky - not so with CharterLink. From the beginning CharterLink was perfect: Our charter was launched on Saturday. When I wrote to Rob that we would be traveling with a camperhome before the sailing trip he immediately suggested to bring our luggage already on Friday on the yacht. Rob is very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and relaxed.
Most of our sailing so far was in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. The Hauraki Gulf is a nice sailing area, too – we really loved it – wunderbar! Yacht condition was very good with everything you need. Location of the marina is perfect, out of the city but easily reached by ferry.

Excellent experience – We chartered at very short notice. We received a great welcome and were treated very professionally. Directions, parking details and how to find the boat were very simple and clear. The boat was prepared and in excellent condition when we arrived with everything we required for the 2 day charter. The operation of the boat was carefully explained to us and all questions answered in a positive manner. The boat handled very well and was a delight to sail, we all felt safe and enjoyed the sailing experience. The crew were on the Dock to meet us on our return and helped us tie up and tidy up the boat. We could not fault the service provided. Thanks to Rob and his team. We will be back again soon.

I can personally recommend Charterlink, Rob and his team and fleet of boats. I think we have tried 80% of the fleet over the last few years. Whilst we have always taken the sailing fleet we decided to try power and have just been out in "Indulgence" for a week. Although it is an older boat it was in great condition and had all the home comforts. I am fussy with where I spend money pocket money but never have given a second thought with Charterlink. If you want a stress free boating holiday there is only one company to choose.

4 adults & 2 kids on 36' True North. Quite an eventful trip! We've chartered boats on West Coast of Scotland, Croatia, Greece, Whitsundays & Bay of Islands. We'd rate this trip as 9/10 for Rob & Brett (friendly & great advice, especially before the 65 kt gale blew in) but only 6/10 for True North (a bit tired looking compared to previous charters, heads smell in fwd cabin, aft water gauge not working & tank ran out after 1 day of frugal use- causing rationing, a failed diversion to Coromandel Wharf with 0.2 m under keel and no showers etc). The boat sailed and handled well though. North Harbour (Chamberlain Bay) a great anchor spot during a 65kt SW gale. Anchor didn't slip an inch. With all the high winds on and off, the lifejackets were also on and off, causing one to inflate as the unseen dangling dongle got caught! (ouch, $92.50 re-charge)

Chartering a yacht, particularly from a distance - the UK in our case, can be tricky - not so with CharterLink. The booking process was deftly handled by Janet in the office and when we arrived Brett immediately lent us the firm's car to pick up our luggage from the hotel and the easily chosen very high quality food (and wine!) for the week from the nearby supermarket. The briefing was thorough and everything worked and we were on our way an hour after the stated time for the charter to start with "Elizabeth Reed", a Bavaria 30 for my wife and I to sail for a week.

We used to have our own boat and most of our sailing was in west Scotland, in my opinion the best sailing in Europe (despite the weather), because of the enormous variety of island destinations - there is always one to suit the wind direction and how far you want to go. The Hauraki Gulf offers exactly that but in a very much better climate. The result was a hugely enjoyable week and at the end there was Brett on the fuel jetty waiting to berth the boat in that day's strong wind and to check that all was well.

Let it also be said that CharterLink's rates offer good value and the client has all the advantages of dealing with Brett and Rob, the on-the-spot proprietors who know the firm's boats inside out and who offer the best of personal service.

My wife and I and son and daughter in law, together with two grandchildren aged 9 and 7, have just spent a week sailing the Beneteau 43 Zuben to various areas in the Hauraki Gulf.
Having chartered previously in the Caribbean, Croatia and France, as well as a previous charter in New Zealand with another charter firm, it is my opinion that Charterlink is right up there with the best charter companies in the world. The boat was beautifully presented with everything we could possibly need, Brett gave us a very good briefing, everything worked, and we had a marvellous 7 days.
I must not leave out the ease of booking from long distance, all organised by the wonderful Janet in the office, who was able to answer all my queries with the utmost patience and accuracy.
Rob did a great job meeting us on our return, and he was able to organise the retrieval of a box of left over provisions including 4 bottles of wine which we had left outside the Bayswater office when we drove away, even though he was in Coromandel at the time.
I can thoroughly recommend Charterlink to anyone wanting to sail out of Auckland.

Our first experience of a bare boat charter from CharterLink was excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful - professional but relaxed. We enjoyed the space on the Beneteau 43 "Zuben" and even managed to get to 7.5 knots in not too much breeze. We were lucky with mid summer conditions in April and swam, fished, sailed and enjoyed our short but worthwhile trip around Waiheke Island. The boat was well maintained and easy to operate with the self furling headsail, lazy jacks for the main and good anchor winch. We are very keen to charter again for longer with the same charter company as in all respects it was a great experience and good value for money.

We sailed Elisabeth Reed, a 31 Bavaria for 3 big days. First day to Kawau, second day to Hooks Bay at the end of Waiheke, third day back to base.
On the first day we were reaching at 25 kts, top speed 7.3 kts. Second day was a reacher again with 2 pots of dolphins showing up, which was just magic.
We stopped at Tiri, which was well worth it.
At hooks bay we had fluorescent water at night, you could see the fish lightning up the water with each movement.
The boat handled ok. With 25 kts it wanted to round up on a reach and following waves if not properly trimmed, more pronounced than other boats.

We've been chartering from Rob for about 3 years and we charter 3 or 4 times per year. We typically charter a 36' mono, but most recently took out a catamarran.

Rob the owner is a great guy - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, responsive and relaxed. All great attributes from the charterers point of view when things go wrong, generally little things, as they inevitably will. It all adds to the interest and learning in yachting.

The yachts are always well maintained and presented.

In short, it's a hassle free experience from Charterlink.

We haven't sailed beyond the Hauraki Gulf - but it's a big area and there's always something of interest and plenty of good attractive anchorages. As suggested by the huge numbers of yachts in Auckland it must be one of the worlds best crusining grounds.

We chartered the Raven 31 for four days. The briefing on the boat's facilities was adequate but hurried. Had we not ben experienced in the handling of a yacht like this, I would say it was somewhat below par.

Our time on the water was, however, magic. After a blustery departure from the marina in a 20+ knot Northerly, we motor sailed to Islington Bay, spent the night there and next day motored to TiriTiri Matangi to visit the bird sanctuary. This is a unique location and should be on the agenda of any visiting tourist so that they can see the Takahe, the Tui, the Blue Duck the Bellbirds and Saddlebacks at close range.

Next day we motor sailed around the back of Waiheke Island and met up with a pod of about eight dolphins who swam and porpoised alongside the boat for almost half an hour. This was an amazing experience and one we will never forget.

CharterLink do their best to keep these older keelboats in survey at a charter price which is realistic. There will invariably be glitches but so long as you have some experience in the hqndling of such vessels and don't mind some minor deficiencies then you can certainly expect some good value for your money.

I will be happy to charter from them again.

In 2010, all aspects of the charter, communication, briefing, boat condition, charts, helping with return, the Hauraki Gulf, even the weather, were perfect. Together with some friends I chartered twice with Charterlink and was very satisfied. The staff is very friendly and easy going. Will do it again when I get back from the US.

This was our second charter with Charterlink, the first one (December 07) was such a fabulous experience I had no hesitation in rebooking the following summer. Weather wasn't kind to us the weekend we had booked so Rob was kind enough to not only accommodate us at a later date but also give us an amazing upgrade due to the season rates changing. The Bavaria 37 Pure Escape was a dream to sail, a delight to live aboard and had an extremely well equipped galley. It was with heavy hearts we returned her to the marina after a fabulous long weekend. We will be back next summer!

The boat we were meant to have was out of action so we were upgraded to a nicer boat. Great 4 days had by all in the Hauraki Gulf and we will be aiming to do it again next year. Cheers.

We had a good experience and I was surprised at how roomy the yacht was below. Also, the process of booking and briefing was professional and simple to execute. I was grateful that my experience was accepted and that we were able to cruise wherever we wished without the need to call in and all of that sort of stuff that you can experience elsewhere. The team was excellent all around and I would not hesitate to charter a yacht from Charterlink Auckland again.

We chartered a 38' sailboat from Charterlink and had a great time sailing the Huraki Gulf. Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted, ran through the boat safety and operation guidelines and were out to sea in an hour. We found the boat to be in tip top shape and provisioned with everything we needed for our trip. Needless to say, the crusing gounds and the boat lived up to our expectations and we would not hesitate to highly recommend the venue and Charterlink as an exceptional experience.

My family chartered a 30' yacht from Charter Link recently and had a fantastic time

The boat was well maintained, clean and a pleasure to be aboard for those who were new to sailing and the more experienced ones

Charter Link were flexible in handling our booking given that we were coming from overseas and accomodated our needs perfectly

Would reccomend
