Wild South Twilight Wildlife Conservation Experience

Yellow eyed Penguins, Fur seals and Royal Albatross

TWILIGHT is Dunedin’s original small group wildlife tour of the Otago Peninsula since 1983.The tour is operated in a friendly relaxed manner by our professional guides who will inroduce you to New Zealands unique wildlife: Yellow Eyed Pinguins, New Zealand furseals, Royal Albatross and a variety of other native birds that can be seen around our bays and lagoons. They will also explain the areas history, help you discover its wild scenic beauty, and get you in the right place at the right time for some memorable photographic opportunities.

Our guide will take you by mini-bus to a secluded bay in an area where a minimum of walking (200 metres) is required to reach our viewing area. From here you can view Yellow Eyed Penguins coming ashore and socialising on the hillside before returning to their nests. This bay is also home to a large male population of New Zealand furseals which can be seen sunning themselves on the rocks just meters from our hide. Occasionally dolphins come into the bay along with other seal species which haul out for a rest. We will allow time for the unexpected should it occur.

    Otago Peninsular.

Excellent small group tour, lots of personal/guide input. Company had own hides (for penguins and seal colonies and albatross colony).
