    Barhrooms and kitchen were spotless.

Site flat although a little muddy - not a problem though.

It gets SUPER cold overnight in May!

Like many Cromwell campsites it looks a little dry and dusty but we had a nice spot at the bottom of the site with trees and grass which was really pleasant.

Free showers, basic but totally functional kitchen, wifi around the kitchen and office, would happily return.

    Average at best.

It's a bit of a weird place, but the vibe isn't as weird as the initial look. $20pp is a bit steep for no wifi. Showers are decent but a little uneven. Kitchen is small but serviceable. There is no store and only 2 intermittent restaurants in Bannockburn, so come with supplies. The staff is not overly nice. Winery fans will wake you up before dawn on cooler nights.

This place is a bit odd but all in all fine!

Sites are a bit hit and miss, some very sloped/uneven. There seem to mainly people living there permanently or storing their vans there, so can feel a bit isolated! Facilities are basic, but very clean. Would stay if you’re passing through but it’s not a destination!

    Big camping ground.

Sites are flat. Nice and quiet as not near the road. Bathroom, kitchen block fairly new, clean. Laundry bring your own soap powder. $40 per night for powered site 2 adults. No dump station but one 5 minutes away.

Great place to stay and biked the new Lake Dunston Trail. Easy ride down the hill to join trail left of bridge.

Nice quite camping ground set in the heart of Central.

The amenities are very clean and tidy, a reflection of the camp proprietors. Fees were $20 per night for a non powered site which included use of kitchen and hot shower.

    Great value on today's market.

The only thing to top this camping ground off is a dump station.

Was very lucky to be squeezed in as the place was full when I turned up on NYE.

Very kind owner. Nice clean facilities with everything I needed. Would stay again.

It was ok here till I came back after a morning out.

When I came back the site I was in had been taken. So I asked where I could park up. They told me and I moved to where they said but one manager called me an idiot for parking next to a cone. It was some water pipe.

No body likes to be treated in this way. It is disgracefull.

    I won't be back!

There are plenty of campsites where you are treated with respect.

Expensive for what you get at $40 for unattractive powered sites for 2 people in March on sloping ground, no NZMCA discount or dump station.

Location: it's okay, it's a big camping in the mountains, with free power.

Price: $17,00 p.p for one night

    Insects: yes but a few

Wc’s: very good and very clean

Douche: nice and hot. Six minutes for a shower for free

The owner was helpful and friendly

Clean, very nice couple who run the place.

Good hot showers, the only minus point is that there to less of cleaning dishes space available. Good hospitality and nice playground

I’m usually not one to write reviews, but I had to go out of my way to write one about this campsite.

The place is managed by an older couple and let me tell you: they were some of the nicest people we’ve met. Genuinely interested in where we were from and very accomodating. We arrived a little past closing time (8PM), but she still went out of her way to show us around and point us to a possible site for our tents.

We paid 17 dollars per person. Hot showers last 6 minutes and are included in the price. The kitchen and toilets/showers were all very clean. Laundry costs 2x2 dollar for laundry, 3x2 dollar for the dryer. There was no wifi (I think), but good cellphone coverage. A big campsite with a lot of stationary caravans, but everyone was very friendly.

Do watch out with keeping the windows open at night: we were enjoying a late dinner in the kitchen, when we turned around and saw a couple hundred moths swarming the light fixture. 😅
