Good: Super friendly & helpful staff, good location for peninsula, mid price range.
Not so good: Tired facilities, cramped kitchen, only two showers per bathroom (leads to queues in morning), wifi doesn't reach all sites (no phone signal in area).

The place was clean, super great staff, and good location.
A walk to the bay and the supermarket. It was great! The wifi would send messages and make calls but was a little weak… I know you don’t need it for anything else other than communication, but it was raining when we were staying and the only option was movies.

Loved Portobello and the peninsula!
Great campground, good sized sites and facilities. Walking into the village with a store, 2 restaurants and a fish & chip shop (recommended). Top destination for wildlife. Recommend the albatross reserve and Victoria beach. Sandfly Bay is a must… maybe 20 sea lions on the beach!

Very cool location right in Portobello Village.
Close to Larnach Castle and the Albatross Centre. Easy scenic drive into Dunedin. However the facilities are old and pretty run down. Our water tap was broken so our hose kept blowing off, only 3 showers each for male and female so always queues and the water flooded out into the main room so there were signs always out warning of went floors and to keep the bathroom doors open. We paid for a dryer but it didn’t work and our clothes were still damp when it finished. Also our kids were told off for playing with their skate boards on the concrete area. The guy was friendly and helpful and it was a good place to stay for an ok price. Just don’t have too high an expectation going in!

Beautiful area, very quiet with sheep and birds around the campsite.
5 min walk to a mini supermarket and a lovely view at the water.
Facilities were clean, a bit old and the showers were very (too!) Hot. We stayed here for 2 nights.
