Tasman Glacier Lake walk

This track is an hour or so stroll to a viewpoint of the Tasman Glacier terminal lake.
The lake freezes over in the winter, and in the summer you can see icebergs floating in the water. A worthy wee jaunt off the Tasman Glacier View track.

A very nice walk.
The walk has amazing views. At the end you see Mt Cook and the Glacier lake.

It is a beautiful walk with breathtaking views, There are many waterfalls around.
There are benches and tables for picnics with a wonderful view of Mt Cook and the glacier lake.

The track could be expanded on the leftside so you are able to see the lake from a different/better angle.

Shorted than the popular Hooker Valley track, the Tasman Lake offers a lot in less time.
The view of the glacier lakes with the icebergs is really nice and actually better than on the Hooker Valley track. The light blue water is beautiful too (if you have a little sun). The nearby Blue Lakes walk is an easy add on, but we preferred this one.

A one of a kind experience seeing the icebergs up close - came for sunrise - was incredible watching the first light hit the mountains!

Got up early and had the place to ourselves.
Beautiful views the whole time, ending in a great view of Tasman Glacier. Too far to be too close, but the walk was beautiful nonetheless.

Best bit is the fork in the track to the Tasman River.
Quiet and can see the lake and icebergs up close whist seeing the glacier terminal.

Beautiful surroundings but the destination was a bit of a let-down as the glacier has receded so much and no icebergs - likely due to time of year.

Nice walk, 3 hours return, but really touristic.
We saw a bit of the glacier (300 metres), was good for not so trained person.

Beautiful view from the Summit.
Only observation - although a 20 minute short walk, very steep climb and so unsuitable for elderly.

the glacier is not that beatifull, but the scenery and the floathing ice in the lake are special.
If you have plenty of time, than go here. If you have little time, than think twice about this glacier walk and make sure you don't miss the more beatifull glaciers on the west side of the island (fox or Franz Jozef).
