Take some time out and visit Tekapo Springs.
Relax in luxurious outdoor hot pools, and take in the spectacular alpine backdrop.
Try the ice skating rink in winter on our international sized skating rink, or in the summer Dare to ride the Trippo water slide!
Tekapo is one of the best places to see the stars in the world! Tekapo lies in the very heart of the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, the largest of just eight reserves worldwide. Karl wanted to add a night time experience to complement the day time offerings of Tekapo Springs, and Tekapo Star Gazing was born, combining star gazing with soaking in the hot pools. This unique tour opened in 2017 and is the only guided hot pool and stargazing tour in New Zealand. It was recently a finalist in the prestigious South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards and provides an amazing experience for New Zealanders and international visitors.
An adrenaline packed snow tubing park is open seasonally (call for dates). Grab a snow tube and fly down the snow park. Great for fun for everyone. Tekapo Springs now operates New Zealand's first summer tube ride, making tubing a year round experience at Tekapo Springs.
Our boutique day spa offers a wide range professional massage and beauty therapy treatments (bookings essential).
The onsite cafe has some of the most stunning views in the region, with homemade food, fantastic coffee and a fully licensed bar.
Whether you're staying for a weekend, or just passing though, lift your spirits at Tekapo Springs.

Everything you could want, $32 a person and the option to leave and come back.
Great location, good facilities, offer a steam room and sauna too.

Well worth the $25!
Soaked in the hot water for almost two hours. Three different pools with increasing temperature. So relaxing and quiet. There is an adult pool.

After hiking around Mt Cook during the day, we had a wonderful time relaxing in the springs.
There are pools for kids as well as an adults only pool that stayed peaceful. They give you a wristband for the day and you can go back as many times as you like.

I wished I was there while it was snowing.

We only had basic entry so maybe could have spent longer. Nice, friendly staff, clean pools and facilities. $25 - maybe slightly overpriced.

The hot spring was so relaxing and a ticket buys you access for the whole day (until they close at 9pm).
They have free showers as well and it is great to do after the Mt John Walkway.

Before I came here, I thought here is natural hot springs but it was not.
It is just a hot pool and not 'hot' for Japanese people who expected 'onsen'.

Pools could have done with a vacum (not clean).
To experience all attractions - pools, plunge pool, sauna and slide is overpriced in my opinion. Poor design, cannot see view while in the pools!! Amazing views if you stand up!!

Didn't visit any others so can't compare but we loved these.
No charge for 2yrs and under but you have to have a swim nappy ($3). The price stated $20 per adult but we were charged $20 for 2 adults not sure if this was an offer or a mistake?! Can buy combined tickets with the ice rink but after a 3 hour walk the ice skating got forgotten very quickly! Water was lovely, powerful massage jets, everything was clean and our little one actually could put her head under the water as it didn't sting her eyes.
Useless hair dryer in the ladies, used the hand dryer instead!

We really loved these pools.
Were managed about 3 hrs.
The pools are all salt water so you can put your head under and open your eyes safely. This made a big difference for us with kids who had a ball.
If only they had a Hydro slide I would give it a 10 out of 10.
Definitely recommend to all. Only gripe is that the lockers take a $2 coin and you can open it up to get any thing out like sunscreen or a towel with out payning another $2 coin to relock. We spent $6 on locker fee's for this. FIX THIS STAFF!

Just had a second visit here because we love it so much.
Fantastic way to revive tired muscles after day skiing or to relax after day on the road. Views from pools across the lake to the mountains are stunning. The front desk was training a new recruit when we checked in and kept us waiting a long time. Could have been handled better.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Fantastic to hear you found the Hot Pools relaxing with the stunning views. We are about to launch New Zealand's first Summer Tube ride this summer that will make Tubing a year round attraction at Alpine Springs. We have recently undergone a recruiting process taking on several new staff, sorry for the inconvenience of the delay at reception. This issue has been raised and more efficient procedures have been put in place to avoid this in the future. I look forward to your return to Lake Tekapo in the near future.

Thank you for your review of Alpine Springs. We ear excited to announce a new attraction coming this summer, a first in New Zealand. A Summer Tubing Park, it will run is in place of the Snow Tubing Park after the winter season has finished truly making Alpine Springs a year round destination. Thanks again for your response, we hope to see you again in the near future.

Sauna without shower and relaxing room, people went into the cold pool without shower (absolutely unhygenic), even no cold shower in the shower room.

We preferred the Alpine Spings to the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools.
They are smaller and not as commercial, for example no slides.
