Our bus was packed and all seats were taken - also the middle seat in the last row in the bus, so the poor guy sitting there had absolutely no view at all.
This setup gave us a bit of a tourist trap feeling, but we wanted to have the drive over 90 mile beach which we couldn't do with our campervan. We had a nice day. Stopped a number of times, for a short walk in a Kauri park, a morning tea, fish and chips lunch, restroom stop in the afternoon, but these stops were nicely timed and not too long. Our driver Kevin adequately communicated what to expect next, when to get back to the bus etc and gave some nice info on the surroundings during the tour. We're a younger couple - 35/40 - and there weren't too many of our age on board. So if your looking for something more refreshing you probably need to search for another operator. We enjoyed the 90 mile beach ride and the visit to Cape Reinga, it made it worthwhile for us.

Brilliant trip, great to learn more about the Maori from our driver.
Lots of stops including Kauri trees, bakery, ice cream (biggest I've ever seen!) the cape and sand dunes.

At the beginning I felt a bit too much as a tourist because the bus was of course, full of them.
But I enjoyed the tour very much, especially the driver, an old Maori who sung traditional songs while driving.

Bus trip from Paihia to Cape Reinga / Ninety mile beach.
Excellent service, very comfortable, good commentary. Only improvement would be to allow more time at Cape Reinga.

Considering most of the day was spent on a bus, it was really good.
Our driver/guide was fab and the sandboarding was great fun! The drive along 90 beach was also interesting.
